Then its your fault not noticing there is CAS airplane in air.
But as I’m driving a tank I can’t do anything about it as mounted MG has limited angle and there isn’t a single ‘safe’ place on any map where aircraft weaponary can’t get You.
Same as you cant do anything about flanking tank that oneshot you from side/back.
Again.
You can do as if someone can shoot You, You can shoot him back.
There is a difference when You can and can’t do something about it. You can do something about a flanker but You can’t do anything about a plane.
You cant if he oneshot you.
If You allow him too, then that is Your issue, the difference between a flanker and air unit is that You can do something about a flanker.
CAS is just flanking but from above. Its your and your teams fault nobody spawned any AA vehicle to prevent it.
As I have already said.
As a tank You have a chance to do something against a flanker (tank). If You are in a tank You can’t do anything about the plane. That is from where unbalance come.
As a team you have a chance to do something against the CAS airplane.
You have two options how to fight single problem. SPAA or Fighter. Thats opposite of unbalance.
Just because you are selfish and you only think about yourself doesnt make CAS bad.
Actually CAS is no bad since you are also using it… I dont know man, with every reply you are bigger mystery. No wonder Gaijin doesnt listen to ideas like these.
But we are not talking about the team, don’t change the narrative.
We are talking about the player vs player situation as the only situation we can adress the ‘team’ is when You are playing in a squad. Otherwise You are just put in a team of random people that all have different understanding of what ‘fun’ means to them and on what they want from battle.
CAS is unbalanced and anyone using it knows it. Trying to justify that someone after he dies can do something is just amusing. You know why? Because it only proves the unbalance between the units.
Warthunder is not death match game. Dont change the narrative.
You need to stop being so selfish and self-centered and start thinking as a team if its required.
I’m not changing the narrative, You are.
You were talking about what I can do as a player against a flanker and I have already said and compared it to the situation against a plane. As I have proved the difference You change Your narrative to ‘but muh team’.
If warthunder was a team-based game, then capping zone with teammates wouldn’t mean less SP for getting it, rather more.
The solution was that ULQ team mate flanked that tank and kill it, just like your going to say; " your team should spawn a SPAA or fighter and kill the CAS."
and around and around we go.
TO Mode is just about a bunch of players wanting to do “tank on tank” battle using ground tactics, cunning and skill to defeat another tanker one on one. Sure, you might get flanked, that’s tank battle, just as you might flank him. But at least he can’t come at your front./side or rear at 400Kph carrying a 1000lb bomb and even if you see him, it’s all over but the crying… Even if you’re lucking enough to destroy him with your top mount, he gets to fly into you releasing his bomb just before impact, end of story for you.
Everyone should just sit back, take a deep breath and really ask yourselves a simple question. All this debate when the answer to all the questions is simply GJ running a month test of a tank only mode. Flesh out the issues and then start asking “How do we fix that”? Is it fixable? Does anything need fixing?
Do a Tank only mode running the same days as Enduring Confrontation Naval. Gaijin could find out if its a bust or not that way. Easy.
The results show what the community wants
In my opinion, I would estimate that the vast majority of those wanting a tank only mode, came to the game after tanks were implemented and never even bothered to learn how to fly properly and therefore do not or cannot take advantage of the use of planes in these “Combined Battles” and therefore have a strong prejudice towards planes. Many of us that have been here for a while started playing when it was only planes so … . we had a fair grasp on how to use planes, even or especially for ground targets, as compared to those that came after . . . just how it is. Players can come to the game now, go directly to tanks and play their way up to tier III, IV or V and never even touch a plane if they so choose. I do not recommend this, nor do I think it is in anyway useful, but . . . it is possible. I’m sure there are people that just play naval and never fly planes there either . . . just how it is. Any Poll, and prolly this one very much so, can be and are skewed. And the way they allow Polls to be made here, a great deal of the time the person making the poll has an “agenda” and it is very clear when you read the poll and the choices put in it what those are. The game makers have said they will not make a tanks only mode, many reasons are given here why it simply is not a logical step to take. Two main ones I see are: any additional “mode” would dilute the queues and extend queue times a great deal, this has always been something the game makers have been very firm about. Nothing that would make wait times longer has much of a chance to get into the game . . . period. Gamers are fickle, impatient beings . . so that is totally understandable. The other thing I see mentioned here is the use of SPAA, neutering an entire line of vehicles in a tech tree is just not going to happen as it is a bad move. Can they make the use of planes in “Combined Battles” more “equitable” for all? . . We can only hope. Today they made an attempt to do just that with a change to things in AB. As for RB, which seems to be a large contingent of this “Tank Only” crowd, all I can say is . . there are no markers, so that helps. But your biggest problem is not just the planes or how they are used/implemented. But it is the respawn point system as a whole, the lack of plane limits and/or duration of use . . . those two things seem to be the major issue to overcome for most players as far as I can tell. Hopefully they can rework some aspects of this part of the game so less players feel so “victimized” . . . but then again, that is a choice the players make and put upon themselves too . . . I just play the game I am given and the parts I do not like/enjoy . . . I do not play.
That’s a nice cope wall. I have most US planes from rank 1-7 unlocked and most SPAA except the ADATS.
I wasn’t specifically talking to or about you, nothing personal, just observations/opinions/ideas. Prolly should not have made that a reply and maybe been better as another post to the thread in general . . .
I agree with you, especially regarding people who never touch planes, but that’s exactly why this discourse is happening in the first place. Some people don’t branch out, and honestly the way the game is presented to people they shouldn’t have that expectation. War Thunder is not an aircraft-centric game anymore. When the first search result self-describes the game as “Fight on Land, on Water and in the Air. Experience authentic Battles.”, people just aren’t going in with the expectations they’ll need to diversify their lineup.
Regarding queue times, idk. People wait for long periods of queue time to play other competitive games like Counter Strike. I think that with everything else this community has put up with, queue times wouldn’t be a huge issue, provided they didn’t massively increase.
I have a feeling most people wouldn’t migrate to a tank only mode anyway. The experienced people who have a solid tank and CAS lineup would stay in Ground RB, those who really are bothered by it would leave.
The results show ~50% wanting CAS in ground battles.
And that’s only of 1% of the English speaking community.
