Would anybody consider “Chinese Bias” to be a thing in either air or ground?

In 20km, pull doesn’t really matter, maybe at like 10km and below. 20km has huge amount of time where the missile can pull into the target.

cause both have really good airframes coupled with very fast TTI missiles when launched from their FM´s

Except it does? R-77s can hit someone from an almost 90 degree shot at 10km. Amraams don’t.

The AESA Typhoon waiting patiently…

3rd place for a reason.

I just said one range, and you said another. You said most fights happen at 20km, pick a range.

Su-30SM2? Good airframe? Is this a joke?

If it can turn within 10km, then it’ll beat amraam at 20km. Is it that hard for you to connect the dots?

Err… I have some news for you.
Seems like the kps rates indicate that AMRAAMs do infact work pretty well…
Su-30SM2 is below the F-15C GE, which, according to you, is “bad” because it uses AIM-120s.

us brits just the best don’t know what to tell you

Russian planes are well known to have dogshit stats due to the big MiG-23ML/Su-30MK2 prem grinders obtaining the plane. Brit Typhoon has always been outlier.

It has 12 of them. It’s only good because there’s so many on it, and and its own BR the only superior jet is the 30SM. Look at Pobit or superhornet if you want the average 120D fate.

Both can pull in for 20km shots lol. AIM-120 can still pull in for 10km shots, you must be firing AIM-120’s at 90 degrees at 2km away

This past month indicates that it’s even more dominant… the AIM-120D launcher is somehow outperforming the MICA launcher. And the Su-30SM2 is being outperformed by the F/A-18F.

F/A-18E/F also has 12 120Ds.
PoBIT is in hell because it only has 6 missiles while every other jet has 8 or more.
Just a thing of “If a guy does MCM, you can’t do anything.”

Like i said, Russian dogshit players are not indicative of a plane’s performance. Look at MiG-15s. They have the best turn rate and energy of any 8.0 fighter, yet sits in the negative.

One requires you to point your nose near the target. One doesn’t. If I can fire the missile while sitting in my notch, that is safer than having to exit it to fire my 120. Even if it is 20km away.

If anything it goes to show that AIM-120s are actually pretty good.
Not absolutely horrible that cannot be used.
Anyways, back to the original portion of this argument; this update is going to bring a further buff to every AIM-120 series missile, and it’s not going to “nerf” it like the PL-12 was.

I never said it was unusable. I only said it is overall a nerf when most engagements in War Thunder happen below ranges where that drag reduction would matter.

Yes, its not as heavy handed as the PL-12, but the missile still gained weight and its overall delta V reduced. That is a nerf in some ways.

R-77-1s spend a ton of energy maneuvering to preform those 20km shots, and often reach the target slower than an AIM-120 launched from a similar angle. Me personally, I would prefer to take the AIM-120 in that scenario.

This is within 1s of difference at 20km.

It gained some weight in the older amraams, but the newer ones are identical and only have a drag reduction.
Also, most engagements in war thunder always occur within effective drag reduction areas.
Because the AIM-120C-5/D will spend even less energy turning and retain it’s energy even better now meaning it can and will occasionally get to the target so much faster than the R-77-1 in some scenarios.
