Would anybody consider “Chinese Bias” to be a thing in either air or ground?

I like how you’re focusing so hard on the AIM-120A/B being a couple dozen meters offset from it’s older performance while covering more difference and going faster. Meanwhile the entire reason the changes were made was to give the AIM-120 series even less drag and more accurately represent their irl distance; the AIM-120A/B received a thrust and drag reduction that resulted in more range and speed but a lower delta v, meanwhile the AIM-120C-5/D is just a straight upgrade with just a drag reduction.
There is no “nerf” here. This is an upgrade for every single jet that uses the AIM-120 series.

You’re acting like only the AIM-120 can be notched…

New 120Bs turn like current 120Ds. How is that “minimal” to you?

Its certainly the easiest to be notched of the commonly used arhs besides phoenixes.

MIca/r-77-1 players salivating at these news.

Easiest out of them, yet the MICA and AIM-54 are the only other missiles to have changed seekers?? So how does that make them easier to notch compared to other ARH’s?

Because aim-120 has the widest turn of all commonly used arh besides phoenixes and fakours, making it easy to pre-notch against. I don’t have to commit to fire a mica or an R-77. I have to do that with aim-120.

Talking about top tier indeginious Chinese tanks are on the lower part of “mid”, one of the worst reloads out of all MBTs, armor layout is just massive downgrade from Soviets - smaller coverage in the front + no ERA on the sides, the only advantage is them being one of the fastest MBTs (only ZTZ-99A/WZ). SPAAs are also mid. As for CAS can’t tell much, seems to be ok but nothing special. Overall I would say there is definitely no Chinese bias, they are not really good but also not bad either.

All missiles can be notched with pre-notching, AIM-120’s just take more commitment and a bit more range to offbore it, do you expect the AIM-120’s to turn into MICA’s or something?

I’ll ask you this. If time to target is all that matters, why isn’t fakour considered the best arh instead of mica? Oh right, because its dogshit at turning and can be defended against if launched from far away.

And now you get better time to target for aim-120s (negligible benefits within 20km) in exchange for turn rate. In WT’s 20km meta, that’s nerf.

AIM-120D is arguably the furthest range missile ingame now, it can hit 60km launches on dev; you act as if the R-77-1 and MICA is just better than the AIM-120D because they have more close in maneuverability at the cost of a lot of overall performance.
The MICA-EM will reliably fail to hit anything beyond 30km, and the R-77-1 will only reach the distances it can through the sheer energy of the motor. If you force the R-77-1 into any sort of maneuvering against targets the AIM-120D immediately takes the lead.
This is on the live server currently, and the AIM-120 is getting even less drag. How does this equal a “nerf” to you? Do you want 50 g pull on an AIM-120?

War thunder’s meta is not 20km if you’ve ever played top tier ARB.
Rarely do I ever have engagements pass within 15km at top tier ARB, usually they’re jousts in the 20-30km range.

I didn’t say time to target matters. All ARH’s can be defended from far away, it’s not uncommon. 20km offbore shots with AIM-120’s are definitely possible, you can look on the dev server right now with the changes.

Because any missile launched beyond 20km gives ample time to defend. Ask yourself why isn’t 120D considered a meta missile compared to R-77-1 and mica? Because that range does not matter when most missiles are slung at 20km or less.

you don’t say?

It is considered a meta missile tho? its a top 3 missile? Also bringing stats into this is silly…

Only because of its GPS guidance and nerf to PL-12/12As. And it’s still worse than R-77-1s and micas. Which again, goes to highlight that the meta is close range, high turning missiles

The only place where range truly matters is sim.

He was the one who brought up that I “somehow didn’t play top tier”. Those are my own stats.

In worse than turning, in range no. Currently on dev server AIM-120D can reach up to 60km.

Are you like fighting people 5km away from you or something? - The main AIM-120D platform can just sit 20-30km slinging AIM-120D’s out because it one has the range, two has the GNSS, three the plane has tons of cm’s

Yet common kills are within 20km. How many 60km shots have you ever taken?

Even common HMD/TWS shots past the howitzer line merge are within 20km.

You are acting like AIM-120’s can’t pull within 20km.

it’s the worst pulling missile within 20km. That remains a fact.

You presume I do not consider the AIM-120D a meta missile. It is. It is a very good missile.

Also why are you bringing stats into this? I never implied you don’t play top tier. I just stated that true top tier has become a heavy BVR fight as of late.

Yet best jets are still SM2 and Rafale. Curious.
