With the AIM-120A confirmed* will we be getting the R-27EA/EM?

The R77 is a lot closer to the AIM-120A/B. The R27EA is between the R77 and R77-1. The R27ER outranges the early amraams and the EA is just an ER with an active seeker.

R-27EM is SARH with RGS-31 seeker. Canceled in 91.

No? The R-27EM is an ARH

No. R-27EM is a SARH

No. Its an IR seeker.

:P

Looks like ARH (or kinda both?):

R-27EM is part of the Su-33 armament and is used against Tomahawk and Harpoon anti-ship cruise missiles at a minimum altitude of 3m above the water surface. It is equipped with the ARGSN with a two-stage guidance system - inertial with radiocorrection with transition to active radar homing on the final flight section. Range of fire at the ZPS - 170 km, at the PPS - 110 km.

I’m using reliable sources, not some random websites

I dont speak russian… so… I have no idea what that says. Part of the reason why I use “random websites” any “good” sources are likely in russian and therefore 0 help too me

Web translators for photos exist

So… Where does it say its SARH?

Yandex has issues with words divided into 2 lines, better use Google.

Google Translate.

First document you provided translates too “Radar homing heads” is that not ARH?

Second document mentions a “Semi-active RGS-31”, but the source I found indicates it had both:

“It is equipped with the ARGSN with a two-stage guidance system - inertial with radiocorrection with transition to active radar homing on the final flight section.”

So that source does not contradict that.

Quick googles of “RGS-31” comes back with sources that refer to it as a “Active radar homing seeker” so… That might be further evidence of it being ARH.

RGS-31 active radar homing seeker, the seeker can lock on to the target before launch or it can acquire the target post launch. - Source

So its hard to say for certain, but I reckon it is a combo SARH/ARH seeker

It’s all one source. And it’s clearly says semi-active RGS-31.

In which case, it doesnt definitvely prove its SARH.

Does not difinitively prove that it only had SARH seeker. Especially when searching for info for the RGS-31 comes back with info on ARH seekers. Those sources dont prove difinitively

It’s clearly SARH, because it’s says semi-active, not semi-active-active or anything else. Source on internet are just unreliable garbage. You can read on first photo by who this book was written.

R-27EM was never anything but a paper missile and the source is trash.

Yep, some sources indicate ARH, others seem to indicate SARH and others still indicate it was both.

Making up stuff due to lack of information…

If R-27EM was SAARH it would be written, but it’s just SARH
