If WT isn’t trying to be politically correct as seen with our current MM, then I don’t see an issue here.
Again, the matchmaker is not politically tied, and has only ever done so for the sake of simplicity, whereas subtree additions clearly are, as per the criteria to be added as a subtree

Current MM should still bring a lot of heat from people because it mixes things out from the current political situation, just like those subtree additions would. No one complaining about how it’s absurd and against the current political situation that US and RU teams are stomping DE and company tells me everything I need to know.
Which was also complained about back then, but after a while people accepted it was because of balance (to make sure Russia didn’t get it’s face kicked in 24/7 at top tier).
Ukraine to Russia is not for balance, but just for greedy russian mains. So nobody has to accept anything.
I hate what the Chinese playerbase did with the VT-4 as well, but at least I respect that they found their leverage on Gaijin and used it. The Russian mains have no su h thing and thus this is just sad whining to get the Oplot.

Greedy nation mains want what all greedy nation mains want, more vehicles without having to grind different trees.
I never said that Russian mains were exclusive in this regard, just that they have no leverage or will like the Chinese playerbase for example so they can only do sad whining.
Balance is quite a subjective term and can be used pretty much freely by anyone, especially when arguing new additions. If people let go of that, they can sure as hell let go of this as well, as it’s the same thing basically.
It’s not even about T-84 itself, it’s about Ukraine being a good fit to the USSR tech tree.

I mean, as a russian main i havent complained tho, i could care less if anything, the T-84Oplot is nothing great or so op but does provide different style of gameplay which is good 👍🏻.
I was just wondering what benefits would it give to being with, although you saying russians whinning, when devs themselves said Ukrainian T-84 will never come in general, because in the russian dev stream they said “it does not seem like ukraine has any in service” ive said this before too, to help out as to why Ukrainian one will not come unfortunately

Tbh I think that would make sense. If tech trees were reworked to have actual branches instead of lines, this would be easier to implement and could be extended to more nations

When did a vehicle being in active service become a criteria for it to be added into the game? It never was at all. How many of the vehicles in game are in service? 10%? Many never saw service in the first place. Let’s remove all pre-modern stuff since those aren’t in service anymore, then – they don’t fit that requirement at all.
They won’t add it because there’s two big parts of the player base that spend loads of money on the game, and those groups will get offended with whichever decision. They can’t say ‘we’ll lose money from US/Western EU players if we put into the USSR tree, and we’ll lose money from Eastern players if we put somewhere else’. That’s all there is to it. Anything else is just excuses.

Apparently BM Oplot-P is coming to China as a squadron vehicle in the next update.
By which subtree?
Pakistan.
From what I’ve found they don’t operate it
Iirc it was a trial variant like Malaysia and USA had (I believe it had slightly different side armour to one of the other T-84 variants as well)

Oplot P was made for Pakistan based on their specifications from trialling the Oplot M, so I’d say it’s a perfectly justified addition.
The issue is Gaijin just copied the Oplot T, which is neither the Oplot P (built for Pakistan but not adopted) or the Oplot M (trialled by Pakistan).

Trialed only vehicles simply don’t belong in this game.
Tbh, I’m a bit more conflicted as isn’t the Oplot P a specific variant?
Still vehemently against the T-80U in Sweden.
