T-64BV with Zaslon APS should also be available to the tree.
hey besites can we get back on topic maybe
Anyways for my opinion i think the timing currently is a bit poor although it could fit in game in an existing tree however it would also be cool to instead see a eastern european tree
And maybe in turn give the soviet tree a sub tree including CIS member nations instead
I don’t even think the issue is the concept of former USSR nations sharing a tree. It’s what happened in other places too like Split Germany, China and the future Korean tree.
But the issue was how they established only Russian vehicles post-USSR to the point where any other nation would feel like a subtree.
So now if they really want to double down on it being a Soviet rather than Russian tree, they would need to take a long time to establish somewhat balanced representation of other ex-Soviet nations first, starting with ones that have closer relation to Russia to make it work, which would take years to do especially if they keep adding more Russian tech too.
Issue is that only really Russia did develop substantial stuff after the fall of the USSR and even then the gap is still pretty noticeable because of the 10 or so years where Russia didn’t have money at all to invest into the military.
The smaller post soviet nations don’t really have that much to offer
Also, wasn’t there a topic like this already? Feels like it’s the second or third time this subject is brought to forum in its unique thread

I find it incredibly unlikely that we’ll see the Ukranian T-84 Oplot added to War Thunder in the foreseeable future. The addition of the Oplot and the Chinese vehicle intended for the Taiwanese sub-tech tree both caused significant controversy, and introducing any Ukrainian-flagged vehicles would likely be even more divisive given the current global climate.
We’ve already seen community tensions flare up in the past, even over something seemingly as small as decals.
Which resulted in mass teamkilling, in-game hostility, and instances of hate speech on the forums when the Real-life conflict began.
Additionally, this topic is unlikely to lead anywhere constructive. Previous discussions about modern Russian or Ukrainian vehicles have consistently drawn heavy criticism, polarized opinions, and unproductive debate.
To maintain a respectful and focused community environment, it’s best to avoid revisiting these discussions until there is an official announcement from Gaijin or a stabilization of the current world situation.
Edit:
As I’m a moderator, I don’t have the power to decide or predict future additions to the game. However, based on past events and community reactions, it’s very unlikely that we’ll see something like the Ukr. T-84 Oplot added in the near future.
3.1.6 Political or religious agitation and propaganda, including the promotion of conflicts; discussions of current political or religious issues are also prohibited due to their provocative nature. Guys, this is far from being the first time this topic as been polluted by off topic political subjects that have nothing to do here or within the game.
So please, by respect of the OP’s topic, stay on subject, and respect the guidelines, or else the discussion might get locked for good.
Thank you.
Why did you link the rules post in spanish version lol
Nvm just the preview shows in spanish for whatever reason
I think it’s horrible that people put politics in the game, I don’t know if it’s because I’m Brazilian, but I don’t care about what’s happening in Europe, Asia or Israel, some things are sensitive subjects but I really don’t care about the US deporting people who know geography, Europeans full of coca cola yelling at Russia that doesn’t have a good tank in real life, or the Japanese who care about a vt4 instead of an earthquake or the Chinese claiming an island called Taiwan lol, I just want to play the game as something right, realistic and in chronological order but it seems that patriotism, politics and real wars are entering a game
There are guys in the game defending the separate Ukrainian or South African line, just put that in the USSR in the case of Ukraine, South Africa in the UK, simple, but a Latin tree does not appear, even if it is a sub-tree, I would be happy
Due to current circumstances I think giving Ukraine to Russia is equivalent to shooting yourself in the foot.
But this is the detail that many people don’t realize: the Soviet Union is a bloc of countries or former countries. There is no Russian nation in the game, but rather a subnation! So, Ukraine could join the USSR! For example, let’s say there is no European or US nation, but rather a tech tree called NATO. Would you call the nation the United States and not NATO? Couldn’t a vehicle from a former member be added even if it was at war with a NATO country? Right!
What does this say? Operator nation Russia.
Doesn’t matter if the USSR name doesn’t change post collapse. These 2 countries are in active conflict.
Why does it say Game nation: USSR? 🤣
We would’ve seen that if Mr [Politically Redacted] didn’t make a terrible blunder of 21c history.
That blunder terminated the option of adding T-84 to the USSR TT.
That is why politics are lame when we play a game :|
It isn’t just useless; it ruins the game.
Doesn’t matter. You’re ignoring the obvious political backlash of adding a nation to a nation it’s currently at war with.
Yes this^
Couldn’t agree more many people will be very angry and it will definitely make gaijin look like they are taking political side in an ongoing conflict even tho that may not be their intention
Finally a grind without borders
(I would rather that every 1 to 1 copy disappear aswell, one with slight differences or more can stay)
Tbh I’m not even sure if gajin seems that keen to adding former USSR nations as the only post soviet nation vehicle in the tree is the Kazakh SU-25BM which even then could fall under the export rule like the Czech, Egyptian and Syrian vehicles as well as the Vilkas going to Germany.
IMO I’d say the post soviet country vehicles are either
A. Going to fall under export rule where possible and we see very few of them (all while any vehicle that isn’t able to (i.e the VEF I-16) would be left out).
B.Fall into a subtree for other nations (I’ve heard quite a few people talking about the Baltics for Swede for example) where it most likely misses most of the unique vehicles.
C. Dumped into either a Turkish or Polish/Czech/Conglomerate Eastern European tree depending on the individual country, heavily depends if gajin can alter the UI and progression to allow more vehicles without causing issues (Big ask).
Of course if there ever is some anoucment about a post soviet state appearing in the USSR, then I’ll eat my words (metaphorically), though that would require to address the elephant in the forums so I don’t think it would be anytime soon.
