It won’t happen. It would be kinda funny though.
As an Aussie, I think it should go in the USA tree, but I’d rather play it in the British tree.
(Yes, I also think it was dumb to put the Indian T-90 in the British tree)
Abrams still has a lower weakspot area compared to the Challenger 2 series. Counterpoint is that sometimes the driver port zone on the challanger 2 eats shells, but it’s not frequent.
What we should have gotten;
Such a bad decision they made

The only thing Australian about it is the paint job and accent of the guys inside.
Last I checked, these tanks are planned to make up a not insignificant part of our armour as a country (even if we would have been better served buying different gear). This thread is explicitly referring to the Sep V3 in Australian service. We are not asking for a yank tank, we are asking for our equipment to be centralised where it should be. The only reason we are missing our other Abrams in the British tree is because folk cried about it as “America needs to be unique as one of the larger arms exporters” as deluded a take as that is.
It is 1 Abrams that the Americans will have an equivalent of, but Australians could get with the rest of our gear in the British tree. The fact the previous Australian abrams went to the yanks is an absolute travesty. Your position is senseless, and generally only serves to benefit the yanks whilst ignoring the desires of Australians to have our equipment centralised and able to be played together.
Yes you are.
lol
No, that’s not how this works. We are asking for a tank that is in Australian service. At that point, it don’t belong to the yanks. It belongs to us. We are asking for our equipment, put alongside the rest of our kit, and not being splintered again just because Americans decided to sook about it.
We are not saying American Sep v3s should be in the British tree. They’re American. We are asking for a singular Sep V3 representing Australian armour to be present in the British tree, centralised with the rest of our equipment. This is not hard to understand, unless you are deliberately being dishonest, which whilst I would expect of an American, I generally hope to give you people the benefit of the doubt.
I know. The Abrams has no place in the British tech tree. If you want an Abrams in the UK that bad you should probably be asking yourself why you picked the UK tt.
It can be put alongside the rest of the Australian Abrams where it belongs. Or just added as a skin since it’s a SEPv3 anyways
Alright, so if we removed all the F16s from the yank tree and spread them across a bunch of trees, you’d be upset?
Now try this little attempt at empathy for people of Australia. We want our kit centralised. I would have loved if we chose challies (or leo 2s, etc etc) over Abrams, but thanks to yank interference, Abrams is what we ended up with. As unfortunate as that outcome is, it is still what my home uses. It should be centralised with the equipment of Australia, in the British tree. There’s no place for it in the yank tree outside of making up for Americans whinging about not having their Nth abrams.
You are making it incredibly difficult to take you as an honest interlocutor instead of telling you exactly what I think of you at the moment. The Australian Abrams belongs with Australian equipment in the British tree. The yanks have no right to the Australian Abrams they currently have, and only got it because you people are some of the best souls at whinging on this god forsaken planet. You could have received an AIM that was not Australian, we could have had our equipment maintain its home in the British tree. But no, they gave you ours, and it is a travesty. The AIM is the singular exception to our equipment being in the British tree, and we are worse off for it.
Let’s at least have the SEPv3 in the game first it’s like two years over due at this point. Btw Australia decided to have a different armor package then the US domestic package likely due to Du being still within the new Armor package. So if gaijin wants to go the export route with less armor like the m1a1aim it won’t be exactly copy paste tank.
Its not your kit, not one thing on the ausie abrams is at all ausie. Everything but the crew is american.
Huge difference is america makes the f16, Australia had no part in designing or producing them.
Oh and i left out the fact it has worse armor, so tandem 2 efp warheads may be able to pen the turret two. Because Australian politics wont allow du or turret upgrades. Not to forget the underpowered kew A2 which is worse m829a3.
So it is a distinctly different tank to the SEP V3s used by American, but it is not Australian equipment, in spite of it being in service with Australia and distinctly different to American fielded options. Got to love the mental gymnastics used to argue that exports of American equipment specific to a particular military can’t go to other trees because “I don’t like that my nation is one of the larger arms exporters”.
What??? just because the U.S removed something from the package doesnt make it Australian.
Once again, we are not asking for American Sep v3s, we are highlighting that the SEP v3 in Australian service should go to Britain because it is sound to centralise the equipment of Australia. The equipment of our home. Or are only the Americans allowed to want their home represented in the most sound sense possible?
Also, if the tank wasn’t in Australian service, and thereby not Australian, I would wager this page would 404:
https://www.army.gov.au/equipment/vehicles-and-surveillance/m1a2-abrams-tank
Regardless, retreading the same points that Americans are incapable of grasping over and over is just going to be tiresome, so have a good day. Or don’t. That would be preferable.
Ok so by that logic, move the 2a4m to England, move the T90S to Russia, ALL leopard export variants to Germany so bye bye Finland, Norway. Oh and America, has used and purchased several leopard prototypes so give us those, t80u, t80b, all bmp variants, t72b, t72a. need i go on?
ANNDD 18m later got real quiet XD
pretty much this, it’s a slippery slope that never ends and eventually we’ll get to a point where no nation will be unique.
It’s just players wanting an excuse to play other nation’s vehicles along side their lineup without playing other nations.
It is also Gaijin’s way of being extremely lazy when adding “new content” which is why we’re here in the first place.
Is so disheartening to see posts like this because I know that eventually this will happen. I miss the days when nations were unique.
I think I need to state this now. If the main used an export vehicle (not tested), then by all means it can be in the game. I just have an issue with adding subtrees to nations for only to be a glorfied copy paste with 1 unique vehicle.
