Why would anyone make an airplane if one bullet kills it?

I have died multiple times today to one bullet ripping off my wing, or this was a fun one I passed flew by a guy he clicked once i got hit with a AP-tracers round and it lit me on fire and both of my wings fell off… something is really wrong with this game if one bullet kills an airplane. The only way one bullet is killing an airplane is if you shoot the pilot…

Especially with bombers.

Yeah, its a symptom of the damage models being incredibly low fidelity.

Water cooled props, like the Spitfire were also quite vulnerable if a handful of rounds hit the engine, which, if it hit the radiator, would cause it to rapidly overheat and sieze, but in general yes, aircraft should be generally much more sturdy, especially in regard to wings and tails falling off

which is more than one

Depends where it hit, could be possible, especially if it was larger calibre round.

Though generally, if you got hit by 1 round, you probably got hit by at least a small burst, if it was a lower calibre round tpye, like 303

well technically there is no connection between a singe hit being fatal and the non production of airplanes usually the point is to not get shot in the first place
look up the survival onion

The Japanese airplanes designers would disagree. It took them until the last years to make some planes that didn’t explode upon being hit by 3 12.7 bullets.

Why would anyone make bushmaster?
Why would anyone make desert warrior?
Why would anyone make tow2b?
Well because they work irl.

Realistically, if you are being hit by one its likely you’re probably being hit by more than one. Especially high fire rate or high volume of fire guns like M2 brownings. They just all hit pretty quickly.

That said, theres a big difference between one 7.62mm bullet, one 12.7mm bullet, and a 20mm HEF shell hitting your aircraft.

Also remember that IRL, pilots were WAAAY less able to be accurate in their shooting than we are in warthunder, which changes the IRL/warthunder accuracy and time to kill metrics considerably

dont forget all the 30mm guns
i recently learned the a10 gun is the same round and caliber has the 30mm bushmaster cannons found on cv9030s and pumas(different gun but same ammo)

not to be confused with the British 30mm found on warrior and falcon
