Considering it’s rank 5 aircraft being removed, maybe an Indonesian Hawk 53 might be a good idea here instead. Or, if you want something as close as possible to R2Y2 BR maybe Malaysian MB-339AM/CM.
Both of those also are highly anticipated by their nation of origin, so Gaijin could even have multiple nations get their own unique variants of them.
Though Singapore could bring their F-16A variant that’s the best replacement to the F-16AJ in all of ASEAN, so that could be another step in the right direction.

Why abandon a vehicle that has been in the game so long for historical reasons in a game that is not historical in any other way? We don’t do history and every time anybody suggest era separation they are pointed to this fact.
As someone who hardly ever plays Japan, V1 should stay (maybe give it once a year like Maus) and V2/V3 removed.
