“It is arguably the best replacement individually, everything else (including Japanese, Thai and even other ASEAN options) either falling above or below R2Y2 BRs”
Maybe I could see an XT-4 or Indonesian Hawk 53 at 8.0-8-3, but apart from that they’d either be <7.7 or 8.7+
Fair, but I’m not really sure on it. It isn’t really something I’d put at rank 5 even in air RB, seems more like a rank 6 plane. But even then, a maritime patrol line would be nice with P-2J, P-3C and P-1
Generally I’d just want anything to be added at rank 5 in the techtree, same update as the R2Y2s are removed. Ideally two planes, so it’ll be a 1:1 exchange in numbers (when counting the F-84G).
P-1 a bomber with AGM-65s, which is a chronic 8.0 in air RB due to its speed and armament, and depending on the AGM-65 8.7 - 9.7 GRB.
T-4 doesn’t have weapons flat out, and even if you argued bombs that’d be ~6.0 [I wish I was joking].
And I’m unaware of any HAWK that isn’t AIM-9 compatible, let alone <AIM-9L compatible, so they’re all a minimum of 10.x in BR, and 8.7 if evidence is found of no AIM-9s period.
P-2J is ~6.7 in BR at most.
P-3 is a potential I forgot about cause P-1 caught my attention, but also one of those things that both required separate ground BRs and extra research cause it’s a weird bomber.
Fair, really depends on what they do with the SSMs though, since they should have IOG and GPS. With 8 of them I can very much see it at ~8.7-9.0 in ARB too, so rank 6.
While it wasn’t on the production version, the XT-4 is capable of carrying comparable loadouts to the Alpha Jet in dumb bombs and rockets, and a centerline 7.62mm gunpod, while also offering better flight performance. No dual pylons though, and the lacking guns would probably push it down to 8.0-8.3
Indonesian Hawk 53 used the 30mm gunpod, dumb bombs and rockets, but no AIM-9s. Considering it’d be needed most at rank 5 there’s no need to add hypothetical armament to it.
You are a special kind of “special” arent you? You are the one defending Gaijin the entire time you have been posting here, all the while flagging everyone’s responses to you so they get removed.
You keep flipping back and forth more than a narcissistic gold digging woman with a choice of 2 equally rich guys.
Gaijin added the planes even though they knew full well they werent historical.
The planes have been in play for half a decade at this point, there is no point to removing them when the tech tree is already lacking at that rank.
So for gaijin to all of a sudden care about historical accuracy just goes to show they are as stupid as you. If they cared at all they never wouldve added the planes in the first place.
Edited to make Alvis happy since he keeps flagging all my responses to him.
Anyway, Even though I support the removal of R2Y2 from the game
I came here for correct few tiny things.
Back in 2018, Gaijin may never considered adding Thailand subtree into Japan.
because Thailand isn’t Japan.
Maybe that is the reason why eliminating R2Y2 took too long.
Then Gaijin flipped their standard again as always, and decided to add Thailand subtree into Japan tree.
Finally, R2Y2 was decided to get removed at that moment. :/
F84B and G do not see any significant improvement in thrust as they gain airspeed, which is the case for most early jets. R2Y2 has better twr than both by a decent margin.
I personally think we have " Forum people" who hardly even play the game or think about the game when they post. They just come on here to demonstrate the knowledge they have from the book of planes they got for Christmas : )
I also think we have many people who are so conditioned to talk drivel and repeat the same old mantra that they cant think before they type : )
The fact those planes were in the game for years says it all about how much of an negative effect they have in a game which is fictional anyway. Fictional planes in a fictional game.
This is a game of WW2 planes vs Cold War Jets ,Italy ,Japan,Germany all on the same map or its a game where the vehicles have no historical connection to the maps they are on.
Nothing about the actual game has anything to do with History.I find it funny to see all those who argue against era separation and keeping respect for WW2 are the same people going on about how we must obey history regarding paper planes.
A huge percentage of the vehicles in this game never saw a days service with their respective nations armies or anybody else.
If historical accuracy is important to you then this game is not the game for you yet here we are with the removal of a vehicle due to " Historical accuracy"
I wonder if we have a game and a forum full of baffling lunatics sometimes.I ask again are we doing fact or fantasy here? If we are doing a silly mix of both then Gaijin should do that and don’t worry about what was real and what wasn’t. I’m not bothered you’re not bothered ,who gives a damn anymore ? Dont worry mate ,they will be moaning about gaps and Copy paste soon : )
You can still find that over 800km/h, the TWR is improving, which is even higher than 400km/h performance, consider the Jets fight speed range, unless you keep very low speed(under 400km/h), keep faster still be the best choice than low speed
This is definitely something Gaijin needs to pay attention to when deciding to remove vehicles from them game.
Are the people asking for its removal people who have used the vehicle? If so then maybe we should look into their reasons why, if not then why are we listening to them at all?
I personally have not gone down the Japan TT at all, and I absolutely suck at playing air battles, But even I see it as a waste to remove these plane as it hurts the TT and gives me less of a reason to want to play Japan.
This describes 90% of Gaijin’s devs/game “masters” and alot of the people who want these planes removed. Its funny, and frustrating, watching them completely ignore most of someone’s counter argument for keeping the planes just so they can continue harping on “historical accuracy” in an unhistorical game.
Quite frankly, Yes. However their are also unique vehicles that can replace it in time, like the P-1.
To be very clear; the idea of Gaijin removing the R2Y2s are not new at all. The earliest publication by Gaijin itself that I have found was in 2019, where Gaijin makes a general statement claiming how they “have previously [mentioned our plans] to hide vehicles that were never fully materialized in real life as a complete vehicle, prototype or test vehicle.”
They then stated in 2022 during a QnA that “We can talk about [the R2Y2s] withdrawal from the game when there is a replacement ready for these aircraft. It’s all already in our plans.”
You have had… 3 years? To fight against their removal. As have many, many other people. Gaijin does not try and keep their work with removal secret, at least not after the Panther II/KT105/Coelian uproar.
You HAD the chance to fight against it. You HAD the chance to convince Gaijin. And you know what? You all were silent.
You proceed to call everyone here essentially keyboard warriors and forum fanatics. And yet. They are not the ones who only started complaining about its removal only once it was made clear.
Not only that, but the forum is the designated place for people to talk about and “complain” about (ask for ammends to) the game. If you want gaijin to listen to you; the squeaky wheel gets the grease. You need to be much louder about it much longer for changes like these to occur. That is why the realism players are getting their way, and the “just keep it” people aren’t. The realism players are louder.
In all, just understand. Their is almost no way to stop gaijin. Next time, if you want this to not happen, you need to be louder before the change rather than after it. Hope this can help people understand.
