Why the hell are russian vehicles at such low BR?

Huh? This is my main account

Let’s compare the KV-85 and the VK 3002 (M) (both 5.0 tanks), for example:
The VK has far superior armor, despite being a medium tank while the KV-85 is a heavy.
The VK is much faster.
The VK has a gun the can easily crack anything open at that BR while the KV’s gun is it’s only real advantage.

“Jumbo should be 6.7, you can just flank the Tiger IIs”
Man, that has to be one of the dumbest claims I have ever heard. The T-44 has the weakest gun mounted on any 6.7 vehicle, with a decent mobility and somewhat good armor (except for the turret. The turret is one big damn weakspot). It is literally a worse Panther at a higher BR. You can’t just make it play against a tank that has almost 100 mm of penatration more and cannot be killed by it frontally whatsoever.

So you’re going to argue based on an arbitrary classification of some tanks as heavy and some tanks as light to say that you have some sort of point?

Kv-85 has a great gun and decent armour. If you’re gonna german make it, dont expect top 10% results.
At any rank or BR, there will be tanks that have one thing going for them and tanks that have another thing. There will always be counters. Sure, VK could and probably should go to 5.3, but god luck, taking it up so much, it never sees the KV again.

VK is only faster in a line. When it comes to CQC ( a majority of WT matches these days, sadly) the KV probably has the upper hand if both players are of an equal skill set in a level playing field.
Thats because while the VK has a gun, the utmost maximum itll pen is 192 with the APHE.
Now compare that to an 85mm APHE, yes it has lower pen but its a one shot cannon all the time. Ive used the gun on the T-34-85 (same D5T) and its a breeze.

I certainly hope you’re not implying a Jumbo and T-44 have equal mobility. That’d be silly.

That’s why you flank with it.

That argument doesn’t hold up for countless reasons, I’ll list three:

  1. The T-44 and Tiger II H don’t face each other in a vacuum, you’re cherry-picking the Tiger II H whilst disregarding all other possible match-ups, match-ups in which the T-44 excels.

  2. The game doesn’t just revolve around who’s got the highest pen values. A vehicle can still be incredibly effective even if it is limited by relatively low penetration.

  3. The T-44 is MASSIVELY more mobile than a Tiger II H, if you consistently find yourself in head-on engagements with heavy tanks, then I’d say the issue is sitting between the chair and the monitor.

Here’s an overview of the mobility difference:

Majority of maps tends to have small space for manuever especially with T-44 mobility

Mobility plays a major role on every single map in the game.

Even if you’re not flanking, reaching powerposition quickly is still important.

Im not saying it’s unimportant what im saying is T-44 mobility not enough to give it any substantial edge to compensate it’s lack of fire power

Instaneous mobility also matters a lot once you get to position. In terms of surviability if it takes you 3 seconds to crest a hill shoot and reverse back into full cover vs 6 seconds you have a massive advantage, depression also plays a role in this.
