Why the F-16CM block 50 can't have aim 120C?

So guys, why can’t gaijin add at the f16Cm block 50 aim 120C?, the CM is an update that add laser guided bombs that we already have, but even Aim 120Cs, because the first F-16C block 40/50 only had AIM 120A/B, but with this update they added this missiles together with the AIM 9x.

Guys and gaijin what you think?

Probably balancing reasons.

IMO it’s probably a way to differentiate between F-16 ADF with AIM-120A, F-16CM and PoBIT and show that improvements in capability between the different variants.

Funnily enough, Israel has a F-16CM-like jet with AIM-120C, however unlike USA they have 3 F-16C variants meanwhile USA only has 2.

F-16I has 120C, double the countermeasures and MAWS at the same BR

Loadouts are always a balancing decision. For a while, C5s would have had it at 14.0, but with the F16I moving down to 13.7, it could get them without a BR increase. But there might be a Decompression soon™

Aim-9X would increase the BR a lot and equivalents would be added to everyone else

Will the AIM-9X and IRIS-T will be that broken? Specially when top tier is mostly BVR that I believe it’s going on in Realistic (i don’t know what’s happening in realistic I only play Sim air)

They would be very good in dogfights, but long range engagement or even 10 to 15km engagement, they would be very easy to defeat since you can currently defeat 9X or IRIS-T by just rolling and dumping flares (from front aspect, I still need to test it from rear aspect) ,so unless they change something, I don’t think it would be broken

There are unknowns, like if the seekers will be improved compared to their current in-game SAM versions, or if there will be restrictions such as needing HOBS.

But yes, I dont really see why ASRAAM, IRIS-T, Aim-9X etc should really be below 14.0 except for extreme exceptions (Such as a weak ground attacker). They’ll be harder to defeat (even if just marginally), better range, HOBS ability, etc.

At 13.7, the F-16CM could see 12.7s that dont even have IRCCM, that would be rather unfair to be facing Aim-9X and co.

The F-16CM is also actually a rather balanced aircraft at 13.7 at the moment, and is doing fine, any meaningful buff would naturally result in a BR increase.

I see it far more likely that the F-16CM will remain with 9Ms and the Pobit will get Aim-9X, if not another F-16 added specifically for it (if there is another upgrade worth adding)

Can’t wait for F-16 Block 52+ Advanced to can get 6 IRIS-T in 14.0

Personally I think when next gen ARH and IR missiles are added, the F-16 ADF should have AIM-9Ms added, the F-16C Block 50 should get AIM-120C-5s and AIM-9X Block 1s, and the F-16CM PoBIT should get AIM-120D-3s and AIM-9X Block 2s. IMO that would make a nice progression in capabilities from the F-16A → F-16A ADF → F-16C Block 50 → F-16CM PoBIT.

Decompression would solve that. If gaijin wanted to do that anyways. Hard BR caps would help as well. Post WW2 and early cold war jets should not be able to face all aspect IR missiles, cold war jets should not be able to face IRCCM missiles and advanced fox 1s, and fox 1 only jets should not be able to face ARH missiles, and early fox 3 jets should not be able to face advanced fox 3s when those are added. Missiles like the AIM-120D-3, PL-15/PL-17, Meteor, AIM-260, AIM-174B, etc.

Decompression would help, but would still result in a relative BR increase if it got IIR. So the question still remains, is the F-16CM better off at a lower relative BR without, or higher with? For example, I dont want the M-Scan Typhoons to get ASRAAM/IRIS-T because I want them at a lower relative BR compared to the AESA one

hard caps dont work. All they do is render whatever is at the top of the bracket the meta, and whatever is at the bottom DOA.

and its not as clean as that, because tbh, something like a Sea harrier FA2 should be facing stuff like the F-15A and Su-27 or Su-33. That is actually balanced.

Id even go as far as to say the Su-33 is stronger than the FA2 at the moment
