I thought ERA is good so why some tanks like abrams and type 90 have no ERA?
Also abrams armor is not useful :(

The problem is that the Abrams didn’t get DU armor. That’s why they look like light tanks in the game.

what is DU armor?
Bruh the abrams have multiple places at the front that can be penetrated.
NATO uses NERA for kinetic protection as they don’t try to keep the weight of their tanks down the way Russia dose. There are also advantages to NERA over ERA, NERA doesn’t explode so its safer for nearby troops, it also degrades less then ERA when hit. NERA and ERA work on simpler principles of plate distortion, but NERA being less energetic requires more of it, and that means more weight. The NATO ERA they use for urban combat is solely designed for protection against Chemical rounds from stuff like RPGs and IEDs.
Yes it dose, that’s why the HC/ A2 have more far protection on the turret despite having the same amount of NERA. DU also enhances multi-strike protection, not first strike protection, the tungsten alloys uses in the Australian Abrams offers the same protection as the DU variants, it just degrades faster.

my opinion.
type 90 and even worse the type 10 armour is straight up wrong and awful because gaijin doesnt have the documents and just decided to make it trash.
But a lot of people likes it

Difference in armor philosophies. Mostly written due to completely different circumstances and landscapes, also lots of valuable information for armor was learned from the ‘Proxy Wars’ that were funded by each side during the Cold War.

TUSK stands for Tank Urban Survival Kit
It adds lots more than just ERA. At least IRL, in war thunder that’s its only use case.
Wars in the Middle East taught the US a valuable lesson the soviets had to learn in Chechnya. RPG’s and Snipers in buildings and rooftops are the only thing that you need to worry about in Urban conflict against non-armored forces.
