The M10 used to have a 5.9s reload (if I recall correctly) and was at 3.7.
The Achilles was 3.7 too and has a 6.7s reload.
Both had decent armour in a full downtier, but both their main gimmicks are their great guns.
In most cases, I would rather have the 5.9s M62 shot (~149mm pen with ~60g of TNT equiv) over the 6.7s Shot Mk.8 ( ~190mm pen with pretty good spalling but no explosive filler), but I can understand where sometimes I’d rather have the better penetration (such as against the KV-1E / KV-1B).
Due to their extremely bad turret rotation speed and open-top nature, they went down to 3.3, which they both sit relatively comfortably ( at least from my experience). The KV-1E / KV-1B also went to 4.3, so you’d only have to face them in a full uptier.
However, the M10 got a 5.5s reload buff, and not long after had a 5.0s reload buff. At this point, I really don’t see a reason to take the Achilles over the M10 (other than to play 3.3 Britain).
I suggest buffing the Achilles reload rate to 6.0s, or maybe even 5.5s.
Reload rate is fluid for vehicles without autoloader in-game. It’s why the M10 has a 5s reload ( and not the 5.9s) despite using the American 76mm gun.
Personal preference end of the day, plus i can use the premium achilles for events since its rank 3, i get why people prefer the m10 but for me specifically achilles is my go to
Ok so I get why you’d prefer the Achilles when griding event vehicles (Achilles can whereas the M10 can’t), but personal preference generally comes down to a trade-off that you’re willing to make… which I’m not seeing here.
