I´m playing since beginning of war thunder and I still like the game but the maps getting worse and worse. They gettting more and more restricted. For Example Cargo port in battle mode feels like Battlefield 3 TDM on Noshahr Canels…
If u dont play a fast reloading or Autocannon fast driving tank u dont have fun, thats just whos faster clicking.
On most maps u have only one corridor where u can move.
With that kind of diversity on tanks should be all maps allwo to play with all tanks.

i play France 8.7 right now.
not a stabilizer in plain sight, so those tiny city maps against fully stabilized opponents can be a bit hairy.
All of the tanks has “is best suited to roles such as support tank, long-range sniper, or flanker”
bloody hard when gaijin is treating the game as a CQC “fix your bayonettes” game.

I don’t mind Cargo Port. Some maps are more open and some are more restricted. It bring variety to the game.
What I can’t stand in maps is this League of Legends ass 3 lanes bullshit. Attica is by far the worst map to ever exist.

Gaijin doesn’t know how to design maps for higher BRs.

I think if we had a flatter larger version of fulda or an expanded larger mozdok it works much better

We already have a larger version of Mozdok that was removed because it was quite bad.
Full map here.
I think with a rework of spawn and cap points, it could become quite good.

I mean yeah, we had in the past on some maps some “OP” postions. But i never had problems with it because i had a plane in my lineup to delet them from that postions and that is in my opinion War thunder combined arms…
Gaijin released some bigger maps… but wtf they was trash

The Northwest section of carpathians should be expanded upon too and more terrain features or buildings added

On carpathians is point C for the lower spwam hardly conquerable because u have only one corridor to the point which get very quick camped/closed by fast vehicels

They can reopen the easternmost corridor like It used to be long time ago makes C a little more accessible

I basically gave up ground battles when they took away the large kursk map. It was in that moment I knew gaijin was catering to a player group I wanted no part of.

Bruh wtf meat grinder map
POV: Ur a missile TD spawning in Sweden or any other super CQB map

Edit: war thunder killed guided missile TDs, or ATGMs lol, Ive given up taking vehicles like the Pvrbv or UDES 03

This is comical GBAHHJAKAJAJ
Map turned into a literal corridor.
I once made a parody map and it was still better than this.
EDIT: unless that’s a parody too and I missed it because at this point it’s too believable.

If i saw that i will just take the crew lock. Go outside on a walk and question my life

It is a parody, but it does show the most used area of that map.
Also, that isn’t believable at all.
Well, it is quite believable when this was real;

I don’t think I’ve ever understood the meta that War Thunder has in mind when designing the game. I don’t know if it’s the players or the developers who’s behaviour is driving the matches to be over as quickly as possible, I think it’s a bit of both but with very little overlap.
We the few who want larger maps are still going to be at odds with the majority of the player base. I think it’s fair to say that the silent majority are just happy to load into the battle and push buttons, enjoy the bright flashes and loud bangs and if they get a few kills along the way it’s a bonus. A big map is just going to hinder most players who just want to rush into the furball. Using БЕИ 's image as an example, it doesn’t matter how big the map is people are just going to funnel themselves into chokepoints anyway.

Lately I would describe the war thunder map/battle experience as being dropped into a Jaw Crusher for rocks. Your team starts as a big blob and there we’re methodically smashed into smaller pieces and confined into progressively tighter spaces before being spat out at the end (the grind if you will).
because a large majority of the player base prefers smaller maps, next question.
