Why not try decompression via MM limits?

By this I mean why doesn’t gaijin just tune the MM for to +/- 0.7 instead of +/- 1.0 for a week, and let us give feedback on it?

I feel like unless you really believe gaijin are bad actors in all this, the thing keeping us back from decompression is a fear of long que times, but I have never once seen them experiment with anything in this regard in my like 5 years of playing. I also think this is why we haven’t seen any new game modes, they are afraid of splitting the playerbase and increasing que times. But I haven’t seen them even try, aside from the recent SEAD event.

Powercreep is starting to get pretty bad and putting a lot of vehicles in limbo, where they can’t go up or down, and there is just flat out better options at the same BR.

Gaijin intentionally want powercreep, it is not about queue times or anything like that its basic Free To Play money making mechanism were you make the next thing to grind seem way better than what you have right now, so you encourage the player to pay to get to that thing asap.

Oh boy be prepared for people coming and telling you how balancing 6 vehicles to be within a certain performance limit is somehow harder than 8 vehicles because reasons and/or lack of any understanding/education of how a set works.
And how this would not reduce compression despite it being proven that 0.7 MM is essentially the same as spreading the current BRs out to be up to 15.7, which is one of the usual asks of Gaijin from people who want BR decompression.

That would lead to even worse balance, as well as horribly long queue times. Not everything is as you personally think it is, and not everything is as you personally experience it. With that in mind, you should consider this issue more objectively. Gaijin has the data, and we do not; who are we to support such nonsensical changes?

I’ve thought this too, could also be combined with a standard team size reduction from 16v16 to 12v12 as well. Which then eliminates issues with getting rid of that 0.3 set of vehicles.

Would pretty much instantly decompress most gamemodes and BRs 80% of the way

They should’ve made 12v12 the default, and 16v16 opt in, and not the other way around.

Because they profit from BR compression.

Im saying why not try it out for a short period of time, what data are they getting not changing anything for years? And its not personal opinion, if we could have 0.7 MM and que times not suffer how in the world would that be worse for balance, please make that make sense.

Yeah…

Cause this would cause heavy tanks to become instantly OP, as well as dozens of other aircraft and tanks that are currently balanced.
Most BRs are currently balanced, it’s a few nasty BRs that aren’t.

We’ve known this answer without them having to say it.

Tiger 2, M46, IS-3, and Maus would all be compressed to keep balance as an example.

1 BR is superior for balancing reasons which is why War Thunder uses it.
WoT has a hyper-compressed matchmaker which forces them to edit ammo pen.

Utterly false as usual

YOu do realise that you are not forced to play vehicles in this game when you get a full downtier.

Or is just my Tiger II unbalanced because I never played it in a 7.7 match or a 7.3 match? Like most people do?

Your argument fails the moment logic is brought into it to replace the fantasy

No. This is long disproven

@_Baum Your post claiming decompression is disproven to being superior is enough for me to double down.

It is, but Gajins continual refusal to decompress makes it worse. Maybe if Gaijin put effort into decompressing during every single BR change, I would disagree with an 0.7MM test. But right now, I want to see a test with that.

I just want there to be a test, so we can have a tase of a decompressed game for once.

Wish they would at least try it for a very short time period like a week. Like if its a disaster then remove it after that time, and how much would a week hurt

Yeah. All jet BRs are compressed between 7.0-8.0 (should be spread out to 7.0-8.3/8.7, with the F-86A/Mig-15 starting at 8.7), 9.0-10.0 (should be 9.0-10.7), 10.3-12.0 (should be 10.3 to 12.3/12.7), and 12.7-14.0 (should be like 12.7-15.0).

The fact gaijin lowered the Mig and F86 but no other nations jets is still one of the most poor choices theyve ever done imo.

There has been 1.3 - 2 BRs of decompression in 3 years.
Yes, it’s slow, and it’s still progress.

Yes but they are immediately made less import by gaijin back tracking like we’ve seen with 10.x

My point is, is that it is unacceptably slow.

That’s incorrect as they’ve never reduced the top BR.
10.x ground is currently decompressed, and air is still decompressed around 10.7 despite compression still existing at 9.3 air.

And 8.0, when Gaijin unfairly moved the Mig-15s and Sabres down in BR, despite them being good aircraft. This wasn’t rebalancing, this was recompression.
