Is that why 12.7 ends in 2-3 minutes with collapsed team/enemies in your spawn unless you play Russia?
That’s crazy
At the risk of sounding rude, I must say that you come across as rather dense.
Allow me to spell it out. I don’t find myself looking for weak spots in side armor when facing any nation other than Russia. The Challengers, which trade mobility for additional protection in the form of add-on ERA/NERA blocks, don’t have the luxury of being invulnerable to 40mm darts, just to give one example.
I’m not a military expert, nor am I particularly interested in the real-world performance of weapons and protection systems. That said, the drastic in-game discrepancy between Soviet ERA and its NATO equivalents has always felt like a stretch, to say the least.
This.
The bias is OBVIOUS
No that is actually because of people like you who cry bias as soon as a Russian tank dares to makes a kill or you get Gaijined and then leave.
Russian bias doesn’t exist
See, it’s reasonably for YOU to have to shoot weakspots and carefully aim. It’s not okay for them to have to do so. Because you know, depending on the situation, terrain, etc. Hitting those weak spots at times isn’t even really possible. Especially on a moving tank.
When you compare the tanks they think are reasonable match ups you’ll notice it’s always tanks they can lolpen virtually anywhere, while those tanks have to aim against them. Even “bigger” weakspots buy you time, and reaction and firing speed absolutely matters.
When Russia goes up several percentage points after some change in WR it’s solely due to skill. While any other nation who doesn’t perform well especially after nerfs and changes is just “bad players”.
“But you understand, we go slower by 10km/h and have less gun depression, we have to be able to point and click any NATO MBT, it’s called balance lol skill issue git gud just aim at the weakspots bro”
“Less gun depression, except over the sides, and the back, and it’s only minimal at the front at higher tiers too and maps where gun depression matters usually work in a way to screw everyone equally…”
Yep, that sounds about right.
“B-but you have to have good gun depression and reverse speed in teeny tiny urban maps where we rush you in corners and end the game in less than 45 seconds”
It’s probably just trolling, so it’s probably best to ignore it…
Also, why do they always put quotation marks before and after each sentence…?
I think about 80% of the time I’m one of the last people alive on the team with maybe at least top 4 guys.
Only thing really annoying currently is the BMPT.
CT40 cannon missing half it’s correct penetration value of 220 -240mm at 100m and 170-190mm at 1500meters.
Take some of the emotion out of it.
Old Russian choppers damage were immune to several MBT rounds for few years (fixed).
I had a list of about 30 things a couple of years back when I cancelled my subscription.
Apache still hasn’t got a functional radar.
MBT rounds hitting some of the bugged Contakt-5 at 90 degree’s point blank just disappearing rounds. (fixed/mostly)
T-series breach RNG immunity to damage.(improved)
Challenger torque curve. (improved)
Star Streak, neutered and all but unusable.
TOW2B, neutered and nearly unusable.
2S38 grossly under tiered, (Gaijin are addressing it)
BMPT and 10.7 was incredibly over powered it could go to BR13.0 and do fine. (they know, they are addressing it)
IS7 was under tiered when it was first introduced, it was just a ROFL stomping matches in the time it took to drive from the spawn to the enemy spawn ever match. (Fixed)
Challenger 2 side armour incorrectly, failing to stop 30mm ammo.
Countless models missing spall liners.
Laser guided weapons have been broken for years( just fixed last hotfix)
A range of stuff that is over tiered to the point of obscurity and never used.
Some Bomber damage models not strong enough.
F-111 wings failing to fold to 45 degrees with gun pods on.
Programmable ammo missing IRST for it’s platform on MBT’s.
Apache 30mm missing AOE against infantry.
The removal of APDS on SPAA.
Pantsir was the only medium range SPAA in the game for years… no one else was allowed one.
There’s definitely times when things get a bit wonky and bias from time to time.
Even things like the modern NATO 120mm that uses plasma ignition that they learnt as a side effect of working on rail gun technology are dumbed down versions in the game, I’m not complaining about them.
Where do you even get those values from? it is advertised to pen “more than 140mm at 1500m” the current round does archive this.
You come across as someone who will look for any excuse not to improve.
With an autocannon? Above 10.0… Really? The M1 ballistic skirts make it almost immune to 2A42 APDS, most autocannons even at a slight angle. The only reason you are saying this is most of your experience with autocannons is the ERBC Jaguar 40mm CTC, by far one of the best autocannons in the game, try a Desert Warrior or M3A3 then come back.
You’d be surprised at how many people in this game are Gamer Gods that never make mistakes, whenever they die it’s always because the other guy got lucky.
He was right, you do come across as rather dense
This point would hold more weight if all platforms with 2A42/2A72 APDS belts didn’t also feature supplementary missile launchers, with the sole exceptions being the Swedish BMP-2MD and the BTR.
You also seem to deliberately overlook the fact that eastern autocannons offset their lower penetration values with a vastly superior rate of fire, effectively compensating for any advantage the western systems might otherwise have.
Your presumption is just false. I’ve also spent a considerable amount of time using both smaller and larger caliber autocannons:
30mm ZPL02 - ZBD04A
57mm Bofors - Bgpz57
30mm MK30-2 - Puma
57mm 2A90 - Derivatsiya
75mm ADMAG - RDF/LT, HSTV-L
Once again, you fail to connect the dots by youself. The reason I brought up specifically this French autocannon was to demonstrate that even “by far one of the best autocannons in the game” is still unable to counteract the magical KE protection values attributed exclusively to Russian ERA. Even the 75 mm ADMAG, which features the highest penetration of any autocannon, still struggles against “Relict” and “Kontakt-5” which are even more common at its battle rating. With all due respect, being forced to spell out every point I attempt to convey makes conversing with you quite a frustrating ordeal.
Although, admittedly, I don’t have much experience with the Bushmasters specifically, the number of complaints regarding their in-game performance don’t exactly fill me with enthusiasm to try them out.
Something I’d like to add to my previous points is that there are bug reports demonstrating that NATO ERA can be significantly more resistant to KE damage than the in-game stats would make you believe. Just to give one example:
https://community.gaijin.net/issues/p/warthunder/i/Z0H3xuwhqEkH
And you’re still struggling with the sides of Russian MBTs?
I preferred my assumption
You don’t need to which is what I’ve been saying
k and?
You continue to imply that I lack skill, yet I’ve made it clear that this is irrelevant to the specific concern I brought up regarding the discrepancy between NATO and Soviet protection against autocannons. Given how you consistently ignore my key points, you clearly struggle with basic reading comprehension.
I find it unnecessary to continue this conversation further.
Well, it kind of does considering the M109’s we have in game are stuck with the M107, and arbitrarily don’t have access to the far superior M795 like they could, which is a free extra 4kg of TNTe(6.8 vs 10.4kg), and Zone 8 (684 vs 802m/sec) velocity left on the table.
