only when the background is clear. If the Heli is stuck at the ground. It’s just an IR missile. unable to lock them. Until the range is less than 4km

Better question why are radar less systems dependent on eye sight rather than radar stations / systems outside of the battle area as they would be IRL?

And how do you plan on getting a backdrop against an SPAA on the ground?
2S6 has guns, 10km range missiles, radar, irst, gen 3 thermals and it still 10.7 while Type 81C only have IR/TV missile is going to 11.3. Gaijin???
At least Japan 11.0 is getting the Thai F5E.

Yea,great missiles,you can’t even keep locking on ur target while they’re releasing countermeasures.The inner circle is even larger than Type93’s LOL.
It’s indeed a good missile, but if you don’t have the chance to shoot it out, what’s the use?

From 10.7 to 11.0, from 11.0 to 11.3
Not like 2S6M1 is better and still lower BR, the Type 81 is not even able to shoot down helis beyond 4km (depending on background interference), let alone anything in bad conditions (weather) beyond 6km.
Now its near VT-1 and Pantsir BR, means when ever one of these is in the same team (and active), the Type 81 becomes pointless, it has less range, no search Radar and worse target search (seeker).

really good missile means nothing if you can’t lock onto the helis. It only has two crew, a huge target, no armor. TY-90s are even better than Tan Sam if you go by just Missiles, by that logic, Z-19 should be 11.7 because it gets 8 of them

I tried to check through the feedback forum and could only find one reference to the Type 81, so this means gaijin decided to send Tan Sam up?

Unless this change comes with ARH missiles and/or at least a fix/rework of the current system it is completely unjustified.
Type 81 might have hard to evade missiles once fired, but with it lacking any form of search radar, needing a lock to fire (which isn’t even accurate) and being limited to 8km at ideal range (well under 4km if you’re unlucky).
It’s still not bad, but not nearly “.3 BR under Pantsir” levels of good in the state it is in now.

Think about the poor premium Frogfoots, what are they supposed to do when you can shoot back? It had to go up so Gaijin keeps making money.
