Why is the T-64A same BR as the T-72A with very big differences? (RB)

It can do 9.0, maybe just remove access to 3bm22 and leave either 3bm9 or 3bm15 for it lol 15 might be the worst round for it

He obviously baited me by hating on my most played vehicle. I shouldn’t have bitten.

This.

You may spawn on a big map, but that doesn’t mean it has to stay a big map. Move forward. Take the fight to the enemy. Get to the cap where the fighting is close proximity. Otherwise, it’s why we have line-ups - USSR 9.0-9.3 have ATGM/LRF vehicles ready to bring in those situations if you desire. Anyway, we’re discussing MBTs in this topic (with some off-topic Object 279 chatter). If we were comparing non-LRF artillery to the Pz2000 or Vidar, it would be a different story. The 125mm (130mm for 279) are quite easy to aim in nearly all situations you find yourself.

Another alternative is to add a later year mod similar to the T-72A, the T-64A did receive the same 16mm applique armour plate and smoke grenades on the turret in it’s lifespan.

Night battle might be another big problem for it… As i play night battle alot those who love playing it will surely wish to go against those tanks without thermals…

I would enjoy change like that.

Right now, i have it in lineup but not really feel any need to play it.

It would be interesting to see several changes made to the T-64, of course from the perspective of larger maps, a damage model that makes some sense, and a correct penetration model. For example, you could go down to the T-64A with the 3BM9, then add the T-64B which has the same hull armor as the T-64A but with an added 30mm armor by carrying the 3BM22 and then leave the T-64B which is already in the game with Kontakt 1 changing its name to T-64BV with the 3BM42.

I do not know any other way to play it except for hull down, it has -6 gun depression also extremely low profile so it’s workable. The turret armor is actually equivalent of chieftain mk10 except for the pathetic zoom level so anything >800m we are pixel hunting. Only advantage of not having top mounted mg is you are less visible when you peek the hill with binocular lol both the T-64A and T-72A are just inferior compare to the T-64B, just no way they are only .3 apart.

The current ru 9.0 is also over bloated with so many mbts, I do however want a T-64 at 9.0 if they ain’t gonna move that one down, they can add that variant with 115mm gun and it will fit there 9.0 just fine

I think you need to have a 10. something tank to be eligible for night battles, not too sure if you can get uptiered into one though. Nonetheless, it’s not like night battles are even remotely common, the lack of thermals really isn’t that big of an issue

Ya’know, now that I’ve seen this topic, I’ve been looking out for T-64As in my USSR 9.0/9.3 games and I haven’t seen many at all. I think people would rather bring an IFV, air, SPAA, missile slugger before they’d jump in another MBT after T-72A, or they’d even just bring a backup of another vehicle. I know for me, I have T-64A in my lineup, but I would rather do the latter (bring a backup of another vehicle). Last night I played a bunch of USSR games and then jumped over to Britain 8.3, and that was when I first encountered a T-64A after a few hours played at that BR.

So then I jumped on statshark and it turns out that the T-64A is quite widely played, despite how stacked USSR 9.3 is, despite there being better options to play. Although, I guess this is credit to people not one death leaving and running through their lineups more than anything else, right?

The one tank that has actually been killed off by BR changes is the T-62M1:

Perhaps think about that tank before you make suggestions about killing it even more with the T-64A at 9.0.

Nah very very big issue espically in big maps and pure dark you can’t even see with night vision it just green black then you get snipe across the map 2km since you can’t see anything…

Nobody really want to grind the extra T62M1 back in the days not sure about today wether people would willing to spend some time grinding it. Most people perfer T-55amd-1 or the premium version. Saw lot of T-55 in the battlefield more then the T-62. due to the fact that T-64A is the T-80 tree if you want to play it. You must grind the T-64a in order to proceed to the next rank. While the T-62m1 isn’t really necessary at all.

The sight zoom of the T-62M1 has been broken for several years and stuck with 1x or something, they fixed it about a year ago and it got so much better because it can aim better now. Both the T-55s have rather weak apfsds in their br, actually the weakest when everyone else has DM23. The T-62M1’s 3BM28 is the only one in soviet that could match that kind of firepower.

I am very sure people perfer the T55amd-1 because it has the APS and at that BR those annoying rats like the german bagenitpanzer with the 30mm auto cannon and missiles everywhere… Those APS are very useful againest them.

The APS is definitely underrated, it stops rockets and ATGMs from helicopters, deny the tandem from AFT09 and could stop slow AP projectile the likes of artillery shell, the game only has two vehicle that uses hardkill aps, another notable one is T-80UM2, I’ve played it and it saved me so many times.

is the T-72B3A not use hardkill??? The Aps can also get rid of bomb without timefuse if i remeber correctly or APFSDS that shoot from like very far away.

I don’t have that vehicle yet, been playing Abrams since the update dropped. I don’t have good experience with all the T-72s, they are mediocre for my playstyle and I may not be getting it any time soon lol

You don’t need to play it, though. Either way, a vehicle being foldered shouldn’t give it priority over non-foldered vehicles. This game isn’t about getting to top-tier and staying there. All BRs and the vehicles within should be considered and made useful, not treated as mere stepping stones.

Real ones remember the glory days of the beloved T-62M1

It’s the only T-55 you have to watch out for when playing AFT09/ZT3A2, everything else is food.

It does.

Very sure all the upgraded T-55 have the lowest BR Composite armor.

The chinese ZTZ88 also have composite plate in ufp like soviet T-55 on steroids, doesn’t have the face plates though, the overall hull protection is nearly identical but it’s only enough to occasionally stop heatfs or apds, the good thing is with the composite the hull are quite resistant against soviet APHE slingers the likes of IS-7, T-10M or Object 140. If I have to pick, both the ZTZ88 are overall better than the soviet counterpart.

Yo, don’t be dissin T-62M

It’s super cool and it looks awesome.
