My experience with Bluefor and anti-shipping has genuinely been some of the worst gameplay in War Thunder, and here’s how I sum it up:
You take off from your already-burning aircraft carrier that has been repeatedly struck by Russian and Chinese munitions without a single one being intercepted. Gee, I wonder why a 1950s aircraft carrier with four sad, unguided guns would struggle against Mach 5 missiles.
You fight for your life flying across the ocean just to get within range of your target. You launch all four of your sorry, sea-skimming (supposedly) slow anti-ship missiles. The whole point of sea-skimming is that, despite being slower, they should be much harder to intercept, especially at close range.
But for some reason, that doesn’t apply to the Kuznetsov in any way, shape, or form.
It can intercept multiple munitions that it isn’t even firing at with its CIWS. It can hit everything regardless of the range. Sea-skimming doesn’t even seem to affect it, since its guns can aim low enough to hit munitions within 20 meters of its bow.
So my question is: why is it so overpowered? Why is NATO still using aircraft carriers from the 1950s? Why do NATO anti-ship missiles consistently fail? And how long is this going to go on for?

yeah the interception of munitions in it’s entirety of this game is absolutely ridiculous. from M163s intercepting… anything to instantaneous point blank interception of mavericks by 2S6s that shouldn’t know any better. gaijin needs to add a detection mechanic that limits interception until the target actually knows there is a missile.
As @Venndigo7192 said bot-controlled anti-air vehicles perform way better than players’ do. Combined that with the 100% target rate to guided munitions just makes it more frustating. Not only that the missile bus that Admiral Kuznetsov doctrine was designed under made this aircraft carrier exceptionally efficient at self defense. We are only considering six AK-630 CIWS because its the only interception tool working on the vessel in the game. Would be much more worse if Gaijin modelled the sea-to-air missiles and sea-to-sea missiles.
Gaijin is slowly, very slowly improving but you should keep your hopes low if they’re going to introduce a new, modern aircraft carrier for US and other of its western allies that is comparable to Admiral Kuznetsov firepower in terms of munition interception. There are no western-equivalent of what Admiral Kuznetsov is in terms of its design of being able to get in combat in any active way by engaging other targets on its own instead of relying on escort or the planes it could transport. Either way Kuznetsov is removed in favour of something less powerful and comparable to other western-made airplane carrier or something made by western allies is found to substitute the current airplane carrier.
