Have you know that T10A is 7.7 as well, which is all better than IS6, the issue of IS6 is the turret armor if you have played that for a long time, as I said there is nothing but only a few of guns can’t pen that in front, consider it is a heavy tank, or you just play it as a medium tank, you can also make the same conclusion with IS3, “trades some armor for greater mobility”, By the way, the US is focusing on light tanks and CAS, and that’s why I also request Gaijin add more better CAS for US at this BR, all good vehicles like T114 or T54E2 need to be purchased.
The only thing I hate about T-10A is the reverse speed, USSR heavies are known to have great reverse speed and this is the only heavy tank that doesn’t have it, T-10M and IS-4M sitting next to each other being slow in reverse but not that slow compare to T-10A.
IS-2 series: 15kph
IS-3: 16kph
IS-4M: 11kph
IS-6: 18kph
T-10A: 8kph
T-10M: 10kph
IS-7: 23kph
Object 279: 18kph
maybe T-10A up a step then?
USA has T32E1 or M103 as decent all 90mm get HEAT-FS so no problems there.
Why do you bring up two premiums, while the two tanks discussed are also premium or gift? both IS-6 and T-10A need to be bought, same as T114 and T54E2.
Well, T10A used to be only $15, pretty cheap, but I sell it…, I don’t know if Gaijin wanna up T10A, because there are too many MBT over there, like TO-55 or ZTZ69, 7.7 is enough.
T32E1 must be down as well, with the worse gun and worse side armor, M103 is like a sniper, not a heavy tank due the hull armor and turret armor issue, also the reload time is too long for them, by the way, T32E1 doesn’t have HEAT, only APCR.
Such reversing speed for T10A is not so critical, the armor is much more reliable and it has better reload time and STAB.
You’re nearly frontally immortal to the best 7.7 tank in the game, which is arguably the Somua SM.
Either way, the IS-6 is better than the IS-3 and roughly around the IS-4M in performance when used right. It should be in the middle, but that BR doesn’t exist yet.
The T32 does not get HEAT-FS.
True, but its APCBC(HE) M41 is better then the M82 185 compared to 224mm 0 degrees.
It can penetrate KT turret, which M82 can only do at point blank.
but should have specified my bad ;P
The T32 would be better off having the 88mm. The Long 90mm takes about 20 seconds to reload on average, which is agony for the penetration at 7.7.
It’s so bad that I often find myself using APCR as my main round just to get by.
If it was not a premium one, I wouldn’t choose that, which has the worst armor in these Russian heavy tanks, which is even worse than IS3, it is close to IS3 instead of IS4, maybe it can stay at 7.7 after BR extend, while IS4 move to 8.0.
You’re not realizing that it’s also more mobile than an IS-3. The armor is comparable to an IS-3, but it outruns both the IS-3 and IS-4.
It should be somewhere between the two logically, but that place doesn’t exist yet because Gaijin doesn’t want to decompress 7.7 to 11.7
Tell me how could IS6’s armor is close to IS3, a turret with only 200mm armor which can be easily pen by most of AP at 7.7, even 88mm/L71 or 105mm can pen that, don’t you realize that?
The 88mm struggles to pen it, and I know that because the Somua SM, which has 270mm, also struggles to pen it. You’re using the penetration calculator without realizing that tiny changes in angles and overlapping plates matter massively in the calculator.
Here is an example of a lower-ended aphe with somewhat mediocre penetration that could go through one side of the turret cheek just fine, that’s how you kill it when you don’t have heatfs/apds
I am not going to say it’s easy since this video shows a point-blank range, where longer range make shots like this more difficult if your vehicle has shitty sight zoom like king tigers as the weakspot is credit card size. The same shot won’t go through the turret cheek of IS-3, for sure
This HAS to be a bait thread.
You can read the person’s mind by looking at his record, if he struggled in the said vehicle then at least for him, it is not bait.
Difference is that the IS-3 instead has a driver’s port weakspot whereas the IS-6 has a left turret cheek weakspot.
Ofc a russian main says this. and it is great at 7.7 so quit complaining
Now imagine the IS-6 moving as well as server ping and other networking being a thing to worry about…
Even Gaijin made a Tip about it.
I never trust penetration calculator, I have played IS6 and got over 500 kills, and that’s how I can get the conclusion which guns can pen that turret, 88mm, and Somua are pretty easy to pen the turret if you know how to aim IS6, most of the players complain that just because they keep a long distance. angles is useless for IS6.
By the way, have you ever played IS6 before?
