Why is the Ho-Ri is still in game

The Ho-Ri II didn’t exist. People proved this. The only Ho-Ri that did was the Wooden Mockup and likely them testing the gun on the Chi-Ri Chassis. However, the superstructure would have been done by then.
To sum it up, there was no Ho-Ri I. II or III. There was only the Type- 5 Ho-Ri and that was it.

It is in the TT. It was a premium pack, it’s just unavailable rn. Unless that’s not what you mean

Not what I meant. Was stating that there is only One Ho-Ri to ever exist. There never were plans for 3 different variants. It’s one I originally fell for. It’s a common myth some believe.

Oh okay. Sorry

That’s not quite correct. The proposed F-16AJ was based on technology tested with the YF-16A, but they are not the same. While one was a testbed for new technologies, the other would have been a combat ready design using said technologies.
The most obvious difference here being the radar, which a completed F-16AJ would’ve had but wasn’t on the YF-16A.

No, it was a US testbed. It was neither started for Japan, nor only applied to Japan. The Sparrow integration was a feature implemented with the F-16 ADF afterwards.

The Tiger sure, the F-16AJ no. The F-16AJ, apart from being a vehicle never built at all, is not even the F-16AJ represented in the brochure. It received fictional changes from Gaijin based off a “what-if” thought.
In the current state it is not even a paper design, but a proper fake, which is sad since the proposal is actually rather interesting.

That is a semantic argument and not helpful.
The YF-16 shown was the radar missile test bed for the Block 15 project; which you admit later on in your post refuting your post’s previous claim.

It’s two different aircraft, not semantic. You wouldn’t say an F-16 ADF is the same as the YF-16 either, despite the YF-16 being the testbed for the Sparrow integration.

While the YF-16 airframe is a lot closer to the F-16AJ than War Thunders current Block 10 AJ, it is still different, namely due to the larger nose and mounted radar than the YF-16 didn’t have.

Yes, it was, which is exactly what I was saying. It was a US testbed for a US project, resulting in a US variant, the Block 15 ADF. I never debated that.

However the F-16AJ is not a Block 15 ADF, but a separate variant meant to combine the experimental Sparrow integration of the YF-16 with the rejected F-16J Block 10 proposal.

Whew, I knew the design wasn’t real but I didn’t know it was that fake!

The Ho-Ri in the game was born out of a lie, but I have heard that the R2Y2 is the same as the F-16AJ and was implemented as a special exception for game balance. The R2Y2 still cannot finish the job because there is no jet that can replace the R2Y2. :’(

“Ho-ri II” is the only ho-ri there was never a ho-ri I being that fake mockup you posted

You should at least provide proper sources for such a claim. This is quite incorrect, there were at least three versions of the Ho-Ri planned. The Ho-Ri Prototype that’s in the game is closer the real version; it’s the mockup shared by @Константинович7

The Production vehicle we have in-game is indeed fake, the actual production vehicle would look closer to what we have below, the Ho-Ri I.

Its design isn’t fictional at all. MaiWaffentrager did make up the design, but at Gaijin’s request. The R2Y2 isn’t fictional as well, the V1 was actually proposed by Japanese engineers.

Please do more research before making claims that also disparage another’s character

War Thunder is a video game. If you want to play a military simulator, go play something else. There’s no other chance out there for mockups or prototype vehicles to ever be realized, so War Thunder is the perfect place for them. I’m not advocating for unhistorical or napkin designs to be added to the game; at least some major component should’ve been finished. Just the gun, as in the case of the Ho-Ri, is enough in my opinion. Additionally, it’s based off the chassis of the Chi-Ri, so it’s not even that much of a stretch. And yes, Japan does need a viable tank destroyer, and the Ho-Ri fulfills that role perfectly. I would much rather see a mockup or prototype vehicle over some copy-paste vehicle.

That being said, Gajin’s decision to remove the Coelian was pretty stupid considering it was more historical than the Ostwind II.

You literally contradicted yourself in the first two sentences

Ironic when you’re citing wikipedia the R2Y2 doesn’t exist

What?

should never has added the coelian to begin with.

Technically both are right though.

The current “Ho-Ri Prototype” was a real design that from what I understand was the initial concept for the Ho-Ri. While it wasn’t built it is still a real design.

Meanwhile the “Ho-Ri Production” was specifically requested by Gaijin as equivalent to top tier at the time, which none of the two later Ho-Ri designs were. Mai even stated she suggested both of those to Gaijin vut they were rejected.

The “Ho-Ri II” desing is the most likely to have been the final one, with the initial sloped design being too ambitious and the non sloped version of it being similar in performance to the II but with higher complexity, but considering the gun has been made specifically for the Ho-Ri project at least the “Prototype” should still fall under unfinished prototype rules and be applicable for the game.

So one is fake, the other is not.

If you read what I wrote, and actually try to understand nuance, I said that the Ho-Ri Production we have in-game is fictional. The Ho-Ri Prototype isn’t fictional at all. It is near to what was a historical design for the program. Maybe instead of taking what I say out of context, you’d actually understand I was talking about the Production version that Mai made up. Shocker.

I’m citing Japanese Wikipedia, which is actually well-researched.

^How is this a contradiction? I literally say verbatim that the Prototype version is closer to reality. Maybe you should slow down and read carefully.

Thank you, you actually understand what is going on here

I haven’t used the 30mm in a while but there’s absolutely nothing wrong with the MG-151’s in my experience. Now they behave like actual 20mm’s and not rapid fire nuke launchers. Mine rounds were powerful but go back a couple of years and they literally 1-tapped bomber wings and tails off.

The real broken cannon right now is the Shvak laserbeam of death. For a cannon that was regarded for being incredibly weak it tears things apart in game.

Ostwind II has a shipment manifest, which if you have proof was forged, then by all means provide such proof.
This is a reminder that T28 was lost for decades, as well as Chi-Nu.
