Its at max a matter of br compression, the AMX 30B2 BRENUS is imo great at 8.7 as long as it doesnt face 9.7. I had a lot of fun playing it and I still use it to grind France (got a talisman on it etc), not having a stabilizer is honestly not important to me as you can easily play around not having one by playing on range or by playing smart and not yolo in head on.

All that works until the game keeps giving you close quarter city maps. Don’t get em wrong I love the amx-30 series bit the lack of stab bites you in the ass so hard when playing them. You have the worst reaction time at the BR where pretty much every other MBT you face has a full stab.
I’d rather have fixed Brenus ERA, so it can at least have a chance against smaller kinetic rounds as it should
And move AMX-30B2 down to 8.3, both being at the same BR is non sensical
Other than that once you are used to the lack of stab, that thing can actually be a menace

its okay to be 8.7 cuz have nvd and era or if need to fix can down to 8.3 br
but main problem is compress br. when you get uptier is so terrible with lack of stab to fight against begle etc.

No. You pointing out that a singular vehicle exists and is worse than the brenus does not mean the brenus is super dandy. You have undoubtly complained about a vehicle in the past. Without failure 100% of the time I can go back and find a better vehicle (if you’re claiming something is overpowered) or a worse vehicle (if you’re claiming something is underpowered) than what you’re complaining about.

My statement was to point out a vehicle of equal opportunity is at a higher BR. This vehicle is at a higher BR, and doing perfectly fine…
I’m not trying to sob about a vehicle I have almost 200-300 more kills than deaths in is bad. I’m trying to compare the fact a vehicle of similar capability is lower and you think it deserves to be moved down. Which is just insane.

The zoom is fixed 10X.
Wiki used to say it was identical to the 103C.
Either way, the thermals are still astounding for the BR.
And it is extremely bad/annoying.
This isn’t 2017. Gen1 thermals are borderline unusable. Even if they were of the standard they used to be (2x the resolution) then it would STILL not at ALL make up for the lack of stabilizer. Thermals can only help you see things. Funny thing is, you can still see things without thermals if you have eyes and know where people go.
add to that the horrible fov the sights have
It would be interesting if they added the SLPPrJ M/90S ammunition to the Strv 103C, which is the ammunition it should carry.
By the way, I’m still waiting for the correct armor protection for the Brenus ERA and the OFL 105 G2.

I played it and I think it performs well. Gets some proper tech for its BR - APS, Thermals, LR, ERA, coax 20mm, lots of smokes and good APFSDS round.
As the thread has covered, thermals are gen 1 and neither good nor particularly helpful, era is useless since it doesn’t even provide 400mm protection with your armor, meaning the lowest pen heat rounds you commonly see are still penning through it. coax 20mm uses hvap/he meaning 1/2 the rounds are completely ineffective and the other half are… also ineffective. Imo, the coax is a trap and better to not fire it at light vehicles unless its AA with literally zero armor. Even a bmp, marder, or similar chassis has enough armor to cause the hvap to shatter every hit.
Dart is good, but with LR showing up on everything lately its not like the LR is unique (type 69 with dart, lr, and stab at 8.0). So you are giving up the stab for… an overkill dart? Pretty easy to see why ppl don’t play much ~8.7 french. ~2 years ago the brenaus might have been competitive, but the proliferation of lr and darts to ever tree has made its selling points moot.

Do you even read the thread. Everyone has agreed it gets those things, but gen 1 thermals aren’t helpful, lrf is common by 8.7, and darts are on nearly everything at 8.7. The olifant gets lrf, 340 pen apfsds and stab at 8.3.
The best comparison to the brenus is the vickers 11, which gets a similar dart, lrf, stab, spotting, better gun depression, same reload and is also 8.7. Having played both significantly, the vickers is wildly better. The brenus getting coax and era is more a joke than actual counterpoints.
