the Ayit not that long ago got moved up right now it has 2 AIM-9Ds which are great missiles but have a closed seeker and shafrir 2s which have an open seeker but have a 2km launch range however at a lower BR the A-4PTM gets 4 AIM-9Ps which are uncaged seekers with alot of range some might say “oh the Ayit is better because it gets mavericks” no its not no one ever uses those mavericks in ARB i would like to ask that gaijin gives the Ayit the AIM-9Ds for its inner wing pylons over shafrir2s because then atleast it will be somewhat competitive against the A-4PTM and also then it would be a trade off between the PTM and the Ayit with the PTM your plane performs slightly worse but you have WAY better missiles and with the Ayit you perform better with decent ranged caged seeker missiles
Why the PTM’s lower than the Ayit?
You do realize we’re basically comparing an A-4B to an A-4N right?
Add to that that the PTM has added weight due to the hump.

Yes, the Ayit could do with slightly better missiles but calling it overtiered and comparing it to the PTM in that kinda way is completely silly.

the PTM doesnt perform “slightly worse” and has better missiles, the PTM performs way worse, it struggles from an early A-4C engine and even spaded still has a worse engine than the A-4E ontop of being heavier than the A-4E, the Aim-9P’s sure are better missiles (in theory) but coupled with how slow the PTM is means that by the time you get to shoot them youre already in dogfighting range where the Aim-9P’s wont be able to pull enough.
this ontop of the fact that the PTM is at a BR where almost everything is faster, has flares (which make its Aim-9P’s nearly useless), and performs better in a dogfight against it makes it in my opinion extremely overtiered infact.
Theres a reason noone plays the PTM and its not because its a new plane or that its copy-paste, its literally horrible, it cant exploit its “good” missiles, it doesnt benefit from having good flight performance (like the Ayit), its heavier than almost all of its siblings, and all of this while being at a higher BR than them except the Ayit.
And this is coming from a player who has spaded every A-4 variant except the premium one and the A-4E Early M, and i can honestly say the PTM the worst one ive played, ive honestly had more fun with the A-4B because atleast that thing doesnt have to face radar missiles every match.
Why you judging a plane you never flown?
The only reason it’s at 9.7 is because of 4x9P.
The fm is worse than a A4-E early. Same empty mass, less thrust and double the fuel consumption.
Mavericks are nonsense in ARB at this BR. But gunpods are usefull. And guess what, A-4PTM is the only A-4 variant without.
