There is no oroblem here. It is a game afterall, and players have option to counter dropped nuke.
It does not even happen that often to be honest.
Man, you really dropped nuke ON YOUR FRIENDLY tanks, on map where you control ground points. You think in real life military* would nuke it’s own people or teritory they control?
If it doesn’t happen often in those who don’t stuff nukes. I have racked up 5 nukes in those two days, 2 of which I “lost” because my bomb was destroyed through a CLOSED bomb hatch. Just to remind you, normal bombs don’t get destroyed or explode if the bomb hatch is closed, but nukes disappear for some reason.
My point about realism was to the fact that for the second day I have been proved that in reality it works like that. That’s why I wrote about the “realism” of War Thunder.
The reason is - nuke is not “instant win” button.
Enemy detected you and countered your nuke.
No problem here, normal game design here.
If it were not the case and nuke would be “instant win button” you would never dropped anything, as everybody would leave the lobby the moment the siren would sound.
So what’s the problem with the “I win” button, for a conditional 3000 points? Why I played better than all the other 29 people from two teams and I can’t finish the rink? Why do I have to fight the game, enemies and allies? That’s how it works in CoD, it’s very hard to score, but if you score, you win. Everyone will have that chance. Oh yeah, only 1% of all War Thunder players will be able to do that. After all, the vast majority play K/D less than 1. And yes, it’s not “good” game design, it’s just an option for weaker players so they don’t feel disadvantaged. So if you think an “I win” button, thanks to which your team can win, in an already losing battle, is a bad idea, you’re just very dumb and weak))))))))))))
Uh you absolutely can, it’s why heavy bombers spectacularly explode in air matches when they are intercepted long before making it to bases and shot in the belly.
Well, to be fair it doesn’t matter about their KDR, and it’s not by the games design, it’s a player hit your nuke.
That’s not nice, or fair to the devs… A common trope thrown out by malding players who can’t stand something happening to them, and them ‘losing’ because of it, or just thinking that they lost because of the game.
I refer you to my post mentioning the reddit threads that state that there’s literally no chance to set the bomb off, but it would damage it, and could make it inoperable due to that damage.
This is just your opinion, only because this issue you have seems to rely on it to be able to be explained to yourself, but you are ignoring that the bombs being hit are different to the nuke being hit.
Then you must definitely not be watching… It’s highly common to see bombs being hit in the bombbays.
It’s less common than normal bombs being hit.
I feel this is a common misconception right now… From the KDRs being so relied upon, to the map complaints about them being bad, and even to the issue that everyone makes out that everyone else is the reason they lost the match they hated.
I did have that specific situation. An enemy plane intercepted my bomber with rockets while I had the bomb bay open. I didn’t die, but one rocket did reach the bomb and it was simply gone after a very little explosion effect that caused 0 damage.
It is indeed very funky, besides I don’t really think a nuclear bomb can be activated by shooting at it, as far as I know it needs a very powerful external (yet controlled) explosion to concentrate the nucleous enough to cause fission. Isn’t the external explosive stable enough to avoid detonating by a bullet or rocket? I guess it depends on the model of bomb.
Well, what are you saying, that it should because it’s just a game? or that it won’t because it’s not going to be triggered in the method that it needs to specifically cause the reaction?
