High caliber AP carries alot of damn energy.
(technically the third image is HE damage, but the point stands. Hull break was accurate)
If anything Hull break needs Brought BACK for certain rounds, like the Fv4005.
Id be fine with that thing being like 7.0+ if it was a guaranteed Hullbreak to anything you shot at (It should be)
All of those are from multiple impacts degrading the armor (a mechanic gaijin will not add). The ridiculous one-shot to tracks instant killing an enemy vehicle you’re asking to return is not based in reality.
In all my time of playing the game when hullbreak was a thing, i never, EVER died just by getting shot in the tracks.
You are genuinely making that up.
when it was a thing i died in my M56 due to my gunner sight getting broke nothing else was damaged, not even yellowed, yes there was some BS deaths like that and could use some refinements
It was a thing

(This was multiple years before over-pressure)

Just because you don’t remember it does not mean it never happened. You were likely playing mostly tanks that were immune to the ridiculousness of “hull break” and never noticed when the game handed you a kill you didn’t earn for shooting a track or empty hull corner of their light tank. But I have fabricated nothing in my argument, and I have experienced being destroyed by a near miss with small caliber APHE on a tank that should have zero issues with 155mm artillery fragments at 15m (much higher energy than 90mm APHE on a wall 6m away).
Hull break was a garbage mechanic and anyone who believes otherwise is either waxing nostalgic for a time where the game gave them kills they didn’t deserve or just wants to punish light armor for the crime of existence.
i mean even with overpressure that still would have killed that SPAA…
The problem is that hullbreak was applies to light vehicles where the energy would not transfer. EG you clip the corner of the hull and the tanks dead.
I played back when it was a thing, it was a nightmare and really bad game mechanic.
They didnt make it up, that was literally an issue. The whole point of its addition was to cripple light tanks by allowing a scraping hit to in the words of shovel from BG3 “murderise”.
Theres a reason the community was happy overall when it was removed lol.
Don’t play useless light tanks that have little to no game impact… Might help.
moving the goal posts huh
Goalport moved as Kitten said.
Also it was literally added initially because light armour was clapping the ever living words words out of other players, especially heavies. IIRC the primary thing causing its addition and the “worst” of it was the M18 which people still complain over.
Also, as for no game impact. lol. lmao even. Light armour is best armour.

My t58 using its hesh to one shot every tank in game, what are you talking about
T58 is a different situation code wise and its extreme rate of fire.
well i dont think t58 can perform as well as it is performing now if t58 got a HE instead of HESH
It would do just fine if not better. T58’s strength is mainly because it’s the only overpressure tank at the BR where essentially paper armoured MBTs are most prevalent.
It’d probably get M107 155mm HE which is some of the most consistent and powerful HE ammo in the game, regularly can deal with all but the most heavily armored tanks with a single frontal hit
then it will be a nerf, you does not understand that the t152 HESH’s power, it has triple the amount of TNT filled inside, and it can oneshot ANY TANK IN GAME by hitting their TRACK in FRONT, which m107 CANNOT.
NO, T58’s strength is to one hit ANY TANK in ANY BR at one single place, Which is their TRACK on their front, JUST THE TRACK, it can kill BMPT, T90M, T80BVM, L2A7V, Even the object 279
