…or shoot at tracks! funnily enough thats what works for me in the t58
Probably because of that bug.
HESH works like HE unless it hits thick armor plate, then it just works like HESH.
So maybe the game checks: Can HE penetrate it? Work as HE. Otherwise work like HESH.
Hitting tracks will always cause it to work like HE and blow the tanks up from below.
yeah well aware of it
didn’t know it works THAT well, the 19 kilo giganuke hesh t58 has is so well suited for abusing this
HESH works like HE unless it hits thick armor plate, then it just works like HESH.
im not sure it even works that way
The penetration range of the HESHs explosive Action is much lower than HE.
The radar blocked the damage while the shells explosive action couldn’t penetrate the hull roof.
Thats just WT for you.
The vehicle would have been totally wrecked but it can just be repaired like nothing happened.
The dislikes on their video ironic.

The complete lack of self-awareness in the video title says it all really.
‘NOBODY uses this shell! Why not?’
Because you made it utterly crap, that’s why!
I’m assuming the 1.9K likes are from T-54/62 drivers who would very much like HESH to not be historically accurate…
If it were historically accurate, HESH merely impacting any vehicle without composite armor would overpressure it (at least in game terms if the HESH had more armor “penetration” on the statcard than the plate’s thickness).
90mm HESH, which ingame does fuck all to a T-54 of any variety, left real T-54 crews in Korea with exploded eardrums. Idk about you, but if I can’t hear what my comrades are saying, there’s no way I could do any job inside a tank…is that not a “knocked out” tank?
Pretty much this.
Although T-54 wasn’t in Korea. Were you thinking of NK T-34s?
Nor was HESH really in Korea either, HESH comes into service use just a little after.

8 minute mark

Transmission was already destroyed
Nothing out of the ordinary for HESH but maybe if we show an L3/33 frontally tanking a T58 we might get some changes.
A clear example of how rubbish the damage model in this game can be.
Just checking in again folks, IS-2 1944 tanked 3 frontal shots of 165mm HESH to each turret cheek and the UFP, then I got overpressured by his non-pen APHE explosion to my mantlet.
Damage is as follows:
Shot 1(left turret cheek):
-Barrel
-Both tracks
Shot 2(right turret cheek):
-Right track
Shot 3(UFP)
- Driver
-Fuel tank
then got killed by a third party
Hit the turret - kill the tracks!
LOL
Oh that’s nothing, peek the Ferdinand’s long 88 shell penning the bottom transmission of my fucking Tortoise and overpressuring the entire tank(7 crew members) despite there probably being over 500mm of armour equivalent when you factor the transmission in.
Absolute joke of a company that only give a shit about premiums and money.
An m44 killed my Chi-To-Late by hitting the tip of the barrel head on. So… overpressure that didn’t actually contact my turret or hull still killed me.
I had an is2 bounce off my chieftan ufp, up to near my turret, detonate externally, and overpressure me through the armored gunner optics. No pen, still overpressure on a shell with 250g explosive.
As a t58 enjoyer soviet tanks are the only ones that require me to aim

Whole bunch of interesting changes pertaining to HESH. I wonder if they’ll make a difference…? I don’t have too much hope, but this is curious to say the least.
Nope. Oh yerah, A Panther with this kind of shot, even a “miss” should have taken significant/incapacitating damage — but nothing. The game’s lovely logic: using the T58, a simple 155mm with less explosive and a smaller caliber than the 183mm, completely vaporizes a MAUS by shooting it in the front suspension (Yes, that’s become a spot I aim at to atomize them…).
ironic on the second video : Great shot! - Crew trying to motivate themself, tired of this bullshit.
