Normally only makes the ammo red, but yes, that is a valid point. T26E5 can easily be penned through the large mg port or the turret ring, even the small cupola. Also the turret armour of the T26E5 is dodgy as hell

i love this new flags feature with all my heart
Is he a German Main? I took him more as a US Main considering his favourite vehicles are US lights.
Also using CCs to make an argument just isn’t useful at all. There’s people out there dropping nukes in the worst vehicles in the game, doesn’t mean the vehicle itself is good.
Why my German lineup can’t curb stomp everything while being fully immune to damage from the front type of post.
Me: sees new custom flags available, wants to change US flag to Australia
Also me: have to purchase an Australian vehicle (couldn’t be bothered to grind M1A1 aim) and no Taiwan flag for China
My disappointment is immeasurable and my day is ruined
It’s not fair! They shouldn’t be able to kill me! I wanna drop a nuke every game, this sucks!
Cupola argument doesn’t work when KT cupola and MG port (although it’s arguably smaller) exist.
Problem wirh APCR is, while it’s not great, if it pens, you either have to move back to cover or you are toast. It’s a delayed death, but death still.
To me what is important is if I can disable the enemy in frontal combat faster than he can disable me.
So there are several factor - gun handling, tank maneuvrability, sometimes gun depression, stabiliser etc. but the size of a weakspot is very important, especially if the enemy is moving.
Vs good player I’ll take more but smaller weakspots vs fewer but bigger.
Also KT has very obvious “shoot here” area for anything with 198+ penetration (theoretically a bit less, but we want to be sure it goes through). Of course it is also very difficult to pen with anything below 198 pen, but thing is - when people know they won’t go through, they go for barrel/tracks and inly then f.e. port or cupola, making your life a living nightmare.
Vs T26 they have “hope” they’ll pen if they aim just right, and 9 out of 10 they won’t do anything, while track and barrel torture are a very effective way of opening enemy heavy tank up for a killshot.
Waiting for Cyprus to become available (probably as Prem/Sqd honestly) so I can change ISR to Cyprus
I would say the king tiger and T26E5 are on par with one another, they are both very capable of shredding most tanks at their br range. The king tigers gun is a little better, but in a head to head they are pretty evenly matched. Most T26E5 players I know don’t bother bringing APCR, the tiger is much better suited to sniping roles where the weak turret is hard to hit. I would like to see some map changes in this game to enable long distance fighting, most tanks weren’t used for city fighting, and when they were, they were backed up by infantry. A good sniping map would allow the king tiger to shine
They don’t bother, but they should. APCR is a good solid counter to KT, Ferdi, Maus (hehehe) and even Jagdtiger at short range can get penned. Some time ago I had a brief stint in Tiger E vs Jumbo. Imagine how surprised the other dude was when he got APCRd through the mantlet.
In that match I scored my first voluntary APCR kills in years (so not counting stock grind nightmares) and it turned out firing APCR simply feels like playing Churchill VII vs KV-1, it goes through, but don’t count on ending the fight in 1 shot, but the fact it goes through means you’re winning the fight…
I agree they both are great tanks, both have their strengths and it’s a fun fight.
Too bad both get 1-shot by fast moving artillery, because in Gaijin’s universe there has to be some brainless counter to everything.
Tbh, let me just share my personal perspective of this. I don’t mean this in an antagonistic way at all, I just want to contribute my own perspective on the discussion, based on my recent experience with this lineup.
Starting in early October, I have played almost exclusively German 6.7… uptiered to 7.0. The reason for it is that I have been squadding with @TheDudesRug, who owns the removed Holy Trinity of German vehicles.
The only 7.0 I have access to is the SPz 12, and that vehicle is the greatest gaming disappointment I’ve suffered since Mass Effect 3, so I very rarely take it out in matches. Meaning, I’m mostly playing King Tigers and the Jagdtiger in the 7.0 and 8.0 range.
Nominally, such heavy vehicles should really be out of their depth in that bracket. Their primary advantage, armour, becomes often dead weight in uptiers, and their awful mobility becomes really punishing.
So, how have I been doing?
These are the last two evenings:
This sample size is really small though, and it was a great couple of sessions, better than usual. Let us extend it to the whole period I’ve mentioned, from early October onwards.
Now, yes, we were in a squad. But when you squad up, the enemy team also gets squads. And we were uptiered the vast majority of the time. Since it’s a given that I’m not gonna win any tournaments any time soon, it’s safe to say that I would not be getting these numbers if the vehicles really were trash.
This is a nuke I got in a 7.0 - 8.0 match using only the Tiger II Sla.
This is another nuke in a 7.7 match that initially seemed gone.
In both instances I ended up brawling at fairly close range, not the thing the Tiger IIs are best at, and yet here we are.
Fundamentally, it’s not so much that your points are invalid – as you know, I also think Panthers are somewhat overrated for example – it’s just that the conclusions you’re drawing are far too generalised. German vehicles in that BR range are fantastic, the only thing missing as a lineup tool is a competitive, mobile damage dealer.
None of them can actually defend themselves however, cannon CAS isn’t remotely as good as bombs and there the US is miles and miles ahead.
I like the Me 410s or BF 110s, but even a P-47 would mop the floor with most of what Germany uses as CAS, whilst also being better CAS.
A lot of boss who don’t even know how to cook decided to open restaurants lol they usually close down within a year or two
Squadding up makes enemy team have organised squads?
My man, I have faced 4-man voice-com squads in Air RB while my team has nothing and it happened a lot.
There’s also a huge difference between random squad and squad that is actually organised, but again, IMO there’s no such thing as “squads face squads”, BTW 6.7 Germany gets roflstomped by organised squadron teams and all I can do is break their planes before they shoot me down with artillery.
Also mind you, Tiger II Sla was superior to Tiger II and pre-nerf it had ridiculously good mobility and a bit of added armor.
I won’t start my conspiracy theory abour premium gettting preferential treatment. In case of pre-nerf Sla it wasn’t even needed, the turn speed, turret rotation and general smooth mobility similar to Tiger E did the job. And mind you, mobility of Tiger E is half of the reason it’s the best 6.0 German tank. The other half is explosive filler of Pzgr :)
Dude, you had 68% WR, WOW!
I struggle maintaining 35% at this BR while I run positive KD.
It’s like I was trying to prove that mid Ju-288C Air RB fiasco 6.0 Germany was ok, because I was maintaining 58-60% WR solo because I was mopping the floor with American team while going 1 v 3-4-5 fighters that remained after all Ju-288 were gone.
It wasn’t fine.
I was just that good with Ta-152H.
Air RB and Ground RB have different matchmakers man. In ground, if you squad up, you will be pitted against a team that has a corresponding squad unless none are available. The fact that this was never implemented in ARB is something that for example Youtuber TEC has complained often about during the years (and I agree with him, the differentiation makes no sense to me intuitively).
Ok, but you can see the screens for yourself. The regular Tiger II is in there too. So is the Jagdtiger, which now moves like a brick, has a slow reload, and terrible gun handling.
Over a lot of matches, yes. That would simply not be possible if the vehicles were trash.
I have no idea how good you fly. All I know is that the idea that I got this win rate purely through skill by overcoming the terrible weaknesses of these vehicles with a herculean effort is very hard to take seriously. Yes, I played well, but the vehicles let me play well, too.
You got it purely by skill and being squadded and playing pre-nerf premium tank.
You can see I can do fairly consistent with 2 KD, and mind you, the lower WR, the harder K/D is to maintain. I also score over 1 kill per spawn.
And in f.e. Tiger E this is enough for 40% WR.
In Pz IVG it’s enough for 30-something WR.
Same or worse K/D in other nationa? 50%+ WR. And I feel a lot more confident playing anything but KT nowadays.
It’s so slow, once I decide I’m going somewhere, I can’t get out of there. I’m stuck for good.
Pre-nerf Sla coul just casually run out of trouble, because it wasn’t much slower than even Shermans.
And in squad the fact you turn for half an hour is not that important, when a super-skilled teammate covers your back.
I won’t be selling people lies how “I’m average with Ta-152H”. You have top 0,1% stats with Jagdtiger and KT.
“Doing so bad” is best WR and K/D on almost all BR ranges?
Just to add some context, @AurenKarach and I don’t use voice comms at all (my choice), and we often don’t even go the same side of the map. We’re two guys with a will and desire to win, and we’re willing to spawn as many vehicles as it takes. This is just as important as KDR in a vehicle. Some of the guys with fantastic KDR are just one death leavers who let their teams down by leaving once they do get popped. So yeah, our winrate is skill, teamwork, and most importantly - the willingness to hang tough and not give up.
The nerf happened a while ago bro, perhaps a handful of those matches are pre nerf. Hell, the 8.0 nuke is from last week!
Getting kills but not winning matches is hardly a weird phenomenon. That’s why I haven’t talked about K/D at all, even though it’s in my screenshots. What I’m saying is that, demonstrably, it is possible to win the majority of your matches with German 6.7 even if uptiered to 7.0.
We spend just as often attacking completely different sides of the map as we do covering each other. The second video I posted is one example, we basically didn’t see each other all match.
I seriously, seriously doubt that.
Odd, it does a lot for me.
The playerbase seems to have become more of a “i want to hold W and win. if that cant happen, the tank sucks”
lmao
