Err… I can’t see the difference. Can you tell us why ‘F-4J acts worse in every way’
- it has the same engine
- it has the same 20mm gunpods
- it has AIM-9G, which is slightly worse than AIM-9H, but at a marginal level.
- it has the same AIM-7F. which was one of the best SARH in this game before the MiG-29 shows up.
with some fancy ahistorical buff for gameplay side, which its seeker acts monopulse. - has the same J79 engine
- with same VTAS HMS
- Also can access almost the same bombardment payloads.
Compression issue.
APG-59 is one of the earliest Pulse-doppler radars.
It might be unreliable, but still way better than most of Pulse-only radar.
It might be disappointing, still it is better than you think, and many of counterparts.
Man, I just can’t understand why US mains want to buff F-4J ‘because it acts way worse than F-4S in every way’?
While there is a REAL F-4J which acts REALLY worse than F-4S in every way. for Christ’s sake.

I know F-4S acts better than F-4J, but is it really big enough to buff F-4J?

yeah the F-4J UK is definitely 11.7 worthy, but it’s still more than useable at 12.0, the F-4S would be perfectly fine at 12.3 which maybe minor adjustments and the F-4J could remain 12.0,

At long range yes, but what does that have to do with the R-24R?
The stock grind is horrendous, but it’s well placed at 12.0. It would be great to get decompression though, It shouldn’t be facing 11.0’s but at the same time it shouldn’t be facing 13.0’s.
The biggest drawback is the RWR and is very easy to get killed by phoenixes or R-27ERs at long range since the RWR is not very good at saying in which direction you are being attacked because it gives no differentiation between all the signals, and you also get constantly lock warnings from your own team all around you. Even The F1C trash RWR is preferable in my opinion.

The fact gaijin could fix this by changing the BR spread to ±0.7BR is so sad
The thing I want to tell them is two thing
- Difference between F-4J and F-4S currently is not enough to make the gap between them.
- it is ruthless that if we send F-4J(USN) to 11.7 while keeping inferior F-4J(UK) on 12.0
Decompress the BR and send 12.3-13.0 higher than now is fairer.
Maybe after the decompression, we might can give AIM-9L and minor improvement to F-4S and send them to 12.3 for make it sit between F-4J[stay 12.0] and F-4EJ Kai[new 12.7]
Okay good point, keep them both at 12.0. Give F-4M/K AIM-9L and keep them at 12.0, or give F-4M AIM-9L, keep at 12.0, put F-4K to 11.7
Leading-edge slats is pretty huge difference
R-24R>AIM7F>AIM-7e2(DF) (7E2DF is better at shorter ranges but R-24R is better than all of them at any range)
J(UNK) being bad doesn’t make US any F-4J better F-4S>F-4J>F-4J(UNK)
R-24R is only better sub 6Km
Yeah this RWR is borderline useless
ive flown the 23 MLA and it has no problem locking even without MTI and it still hits so R24R slaps

In the current compression, which F-16A sits 12.3 and F-15A sits 13.0
It is not enough to send F-4J down to 11.7.
Decompress and send F-4S up with few fancy upgrade fits better.
If not go to 11.7 at least maybe gaijin should give f-4j/s aim-9L so they have at least something
