ah yes, mig23 somehow being too powerful after the radar was toned down and the flight model kinda bleeds its speed, meanwhile the f4j having a functional radar and RWR .3 higher with the second best SARH ingame currently and with HMD lololol and you have the audacity to complain that its too weak, crying until you get another undertiered jet, like the block 10 f16a at 12.3 is somehow balanced because it was “suffering” or something idk, this is just unbelievable levels of cope

Underselling the Mig-23MLD is just as funny.
- LCMs where most have CMs
- All-aspect IRs where most have rear-aspect (on supersonic fighter)
- Best SARH at that BR range
- (R-24Ts are some of the best IR missiles for the BR range too if you dont want the SARH missiles)
- IRST
- Good handling/dogfight performance (does need manual wing sweep control these days from what i’ve heard)
Yes, i’ve heard the auto-swapping on the radar is an issue, but other than that. Its hard to work out why the Mig-23MLD is 11.7 vs an aircraft like the F4J at 12.0. Even more crazy when you look at SB where the Mig-23MLD is 11.3 vs the F4J at 12.0.
F-4J (US) vs Mig-23MLD is a reasonably fair fight (F-4J(UK) vs Mig-23MLD is definetly a fair fight). Especially when the SPO-10/15 RWRs got a fake buff so that they can detect PD radar locks

that would be… R-24R… lol, if you don’t count R-27R as separate from R-27ER that is. If you do, it’s R-27R as 2nd then R-24R as 3rd, AIM-7M/F are 4th lol
Not to mention it gets 72 CMs
They’re amazing too, R-60Ms are just nutty in head ons.
I actually prefer to take the 2x R-24Ts, combined with the very common downtiers and IRST it’s just nutty, you can go to Angels 25 and then smite people from above since they don’t get their RWR pinged and nobody expects a 9km IR missile shot.
You honestly don’t, since getting my new PC I haven’t even bothered setting them up.
Genuinely the only issue, which is null to me because I use R-24Ts

I am speaking before the upcoming update, I don’t really know where 7P would sit besides being better than 7F/7M
Looking at SARH overall (at all BRs) I’d probably place it joint second with the R-27R. Still will be much weaker than the R-27ER. But the IOG will place it above basically all others. It will outrange R-24Rs under most conditions.
sparrows outrange the r27r by quite a fair amount but the r27r is better up close, imo sparrow is still better but ur entitled to ur opinion

them adding r27er does not mean they thought r27r was the issue
as it seems aim7p would be better than aim7m, worse than ER, it has the IOG+DL of the r27 with the kinetic performance of a sparrow
But that is kind of the point. If we consider the Mig-23MLD and F-4J overall equal. It could. Especially with the current compression of those above it (F-15A, Su-27, F-18, Mig-29, F-16s and the ARH slingers at 13.0) Fighting any of those is extremely onesides.
Yes, its a compression issue, yes moving the F-4Js (US & UK) down 0.3 might cause some issues in downtiers, but I think it wouldn’t be too bad. I cant think of any 10.7s that would especially struggle.

They didn’t bud. The MiG-29 specifically was considered “too strong” in regards to it having R73s on dev. They removed them before live. They then found the MiG-29 was too weak OVERALL (read: not the R-27R specifically) and decided to buff it by giving it the R-27ER
