I have been playing this game since alpha and the maps have never felt smaller. Why is it i play 4-5 hours 9.0br RB and every single map i got would be better suited to infantry instead of tanks. Anyone else tired of these gunfight in a phone booth maps?
I cant tell you the last time I saw a full size Maginot line or that red desert map. so tired of using tanks shooting other tanks at 20 yds instead of proper tanks battles measured in the 100s of yds if not miles. Not to mention it almost completely eliminates some vehicles from being used due to these maps that are rotated and designed for example i really want to use my schturm-s but i can only use it on something like 20% of the maps in the game and that’s not counting i almost never see those maps.

Maybe you’ve just got bigger?

Sounds about right for about the last few years. Big maps like old Kursk are for some reason disliked and have been worked out or changed to make engagement ranges below 800m (731 yards). It’s interesting that you mention Red Desert, since that one is not even medium in my book.
I liked playing the Kanonenjagdpanzer but it became unnecessary to have x15 zoom when you barely ever shoot beyond 1000m (914 yards) anyway. There are some threads here on the forum talking about this too.

Sincere desire to improve the player experience would involve discussion with paying customers. Think of how many popular games have classic maps that have lasted for many years.
I find it amusing that the developers work had to implement features of modern tanks designed for long distance engagements, but place them in postage-stamp maps that restrict the usage of those very functions. And thus we have Counterstrike in tanks.

Checkboxes to allow matchmaking on:
- small maps
- fieldOfFields maps
…would solve it all

Another map type i would love to see removed is double cap point maps. all they do is reduce the amount of research and income you can get from a match as we have no objs to cap to give us more points.
I’d rather have single cap ones removed, because they are shorter compared to 2 and 3 cap ones.
2 cap maps have the longest matches, which directly translates to more income.

You might get 10% more rp but matches take twice as long.

People complain about getting flanked so they limit flanking.
I dont mind when they get rid of a crazy good sniping spot but cutting up maps to prevent flanking is not good.
I also wish they could make some good large maps.

i know people throw around skill issue a lot but getting flanked is a skill issue people should be more aware and be more willing to contribute to the success of the team by holding or covering flanks. Thats just what i think though.

Size does not matter, its a quality of map that is important…
Oh wait…
Nevermind…

I would agree.
Sadly, we seem to have a lot of people who want to hold W and go down the middle.
I love battle gamemode.
It gives You more time to perform tactics.

Weird since in Alpha the average map size was less than half what the average map size is today.
The OG maps are still my favourite.

Yeah its getting anyoing. Nowadays I often get 1 point maps and so many places are painted red and kills you if you tryina flank or snipe. Maps like Jungle, Karelia, 38 parallel, Ash river are getting butchered.

In alpha top tier tanks were still very slow, had no stabilizers, no rangefinders and worse ballistics/shorter engagement ranges.

What were the first maps for tanks?
There was Karelia, Jungle and? Or was it just these two?
