Why is Churchill I 3.3?

presumably because you can face it in a full uptier. Although how useful that advice is when iirc all he has to do is click in the vicinity of your tank and you get folded I couldn’t tell you

When I do play the Mrk I.
it’s generally within a 4.0 to 5.3 AB lineup. 6.0 matchmaking is the max BR I would play it at. 6.0 being the limit testing range. as even 57mm will struggle with post pen on some of those vehicles.
4.0 = Cromwell I, crusader III/II (sometimes 40mm is preferable to the 57mm) and the MRK III
Achilles and Sherman II are not in the lineup.
Goal of the lineup is to control the flow of the match, kills are just a bonus.

57mm is the only cannon that can reliably pick up kills at these br within 1-3 shots.
40mm requires access to the munitions, or some form of weak spot to remove crew within reason.

Its a great support tank at those BR. Soaks hits better than the Mrk III.
less than the VII, BUT
Smoke round and smoke nades.
It can push anywhere it wants. whenever it wants, Alone. The enemies dont know if its alone, or has friends.

Layering smoke, nearest clears first, and the furthers stays active. people blind firing machinguns into smoke are easy targets, if they are ammo rack. The explosion will reveal area around them.

The times Ive played it in RB, werent that diffrent, besides the lack of followup from friendlies. Guess when they see smoke they just flat out ignore the region. without the UI help to guide thier attention back to the area, its really just. :/ ineffective. Squadding and light tanks help a ton, to retain attention in the area. afterall, the 40mm is just not enough when facing multiple targets at these BR.
matchmaking at 3.7 and below. Solo works just fine.

. :- AVRE powerful shell, sure. Effective. NOPE. 155~ max range on flat ground. Shells are slow, zeroing takes forever, reload. :(
Unless the other side does the tank a favor by driving within 50 meters. :- i dont see why it cant just be ignored. Tracked. Or side shoted. Literally anything. Bombed. rocketed, as all Churchills do very poorly against HE.

if the tank is not an open top. it requires a little more of a distance to them to actually send it back to spawn. :/ so… I mean. :/ effective is not the word i would describe the AVRE unless you just want to be hit and feel like a Tank.
If you want to dish back the hits, the 40mm can do it, for an effective range of 450ish depending on what its shooting 600ish.

Sakura, if your having issues with Stuarts. I don’t know.

Shoot the middle flat plate. they have no engine. They can’t hurt you, finish it or pick a new target. AVOID the turret. even if they are in a complete stop. Shooting the flat plate is easier to kill the turret crew from than a turret shot.

Which,
@@ Stop shooting the turret, where the cannon breach can absorb the shell and spalling on post pen. Maybe 1 crew member slightly hurt if your lucky. if your super lucky, they move their turret away enough, to get a single turret member. and a damaged breached.

Mantlet can bounce the shell.
The crosshairs briefly overlaps with the cannon when firing, throwing the shell upward, missing the target entirely in third person or commander view.

Firing at the turret, is like cranking up the difficulty for no reason. A normal panic reaction that hopefully hasn’t become habitual. Thier are better spots to hit.

Could the Churchill I be given the Littlejohn for the 2 pounder? A nice bump to its pen would let it be fine where it is, i think. Or any HEAT or HESH for the 76?

You replied to the wrong guy. Lol

Massive difference between AB and RB.

Also the Churchill Mk I is also still 3.0 in AB.

Potentially could have fitted it, but didn’t receive it historically so that’s a no for it to be in-game.

Historicity left the game long ago, many vehicles are missing things they had or have things they were not issued just for balance. As long as it was possible, that seems fine.
