Why is 2C38 on 10.3?

Why is 2C38 at 10.3? More than two years have passed since this IFV or light tank was introduced and it was only raised by 0.3. Why wasn’t this IFV affected by the general rating increases? This IFV is superior to most IFVs in the game. Its shell can penetrate the Abrams in the front, has an unlimited supply, has a radiation warning system, even if you don’t point the laser at it, the 2C38 gets a warning about it. It’s extremely difficult to kill it from a helicopter, but it will knock you down from 6 km.
And the 2C38 also has the latest thermal imager, for comparison, the same BR has the Brzhdli IFV, which has three times less penetration from an autocannon. So where is the balance?

I think he should be raised to 11.0, The housing distribution weight of 10.3 is too low for him.

Imagine still continuing this same old song in a new thread instead continuing this rant in old topic.

The 2S38 or 2С38 if you will (in Russian) is not a light tank, nor an IFV, it’s a SPAAG.

It is at the current battle rating because of the armor layout and poor mobility when you can only rely on your weapon just like any other autocannon, lacks proper post-penetration damage.

For instance the M3A3 Bradley is at battle rating 10.0 not battle rating 10.3, it does have a laser warning reciever which currently is broken for every vehicle and in a helicopter is easy to take it since most 2S38 players are clueless that it’s an actual anti-air vehicle rather than a light tank.

You can’t simply buff the penetration in the Bradley which is equipped with a 30 mm autocannon to be competitive to an 57 mm autocannon, the logic doesn’t match. You see, it should be a better option, if the 2S38 is so good as people claims (the same people that doesn’t have 2S38) then play it, take a few matches and share the Kill/Death ratio then you can start a decent discussion about the subject.

Until then this is most a cope thread trap to push a nonsense discussion until it’s locked.

It is 10.3 because that’s where its capabilities are.
The 2S38 is already a higher BR than all but one of its worse competitors: VCC-90/60 and Begleitpanzer, which are indeed a bit inferior to it.
Strf 9040C is the only one at its BR that’s slightly inferior due to a lower mobility.

HSTVL and RDF/LT are the only ones superior to 2S38 and are themselves higher BRs due to that reality.
Though the RDF/LT is slightly over-BR’d currently.

The only way 2S38 goes up to 11.0 is if HSTVL goes to 12.0 and RDF/LT stays at 11.7.

Oh and the other auto-lights inferior to it would have to move up as well for balance.

its an SPAAG
secondly it need to move to 10.7 or 11.0 because

  1. At 10.3 is basically a power house, track barrel and pen everything, also quite decently fast
  2. 2S38 is viable at top tier, alot of 2S38 are used in top tier anyways

Moving it to 11.7 wouldnt affect it either im gonna be honest. But since RU player rant around 10.7 or 11.0 is fine

they arent superior, idk what u are talking about, they are just as equal
hstvl has slower reload, ~6x times less ammo than 2s38, which mean less AA capability
although it has better armor, more penning round and better gun handling

2s38 trade armor, gun pen and handling for double fire rate of the hstvl, has gen 3 thermal on both gunner and commander sight, has ~6x times more ammo than hstvl, has slightly more magnification

they are equal, they trade eachother, hstvl is not superior
rdflt is even worse, it doesnt even have smoke grenade, speed is mid and can be 50 cal like 2s38(hstvl can get 50 cal also btw)

Because 2S38 is a Russian tank, if it were an American tank, it would be 11.7.

Hes not changing his mind on that, i remember arguing this with him months ago already.

2s38 would be doing fine at top tier regardless
theres a reason why its at top tier constantly since its viable in spaa role or flanking light tank role, gen 3 thermal support it spotting capability further

90% of my helicopter crashes are due to the 2C38. As soon as I launch a Hellfire, the 2C38 turns towards me and shoots down my helicopter with 1-2 shells. I am constantly dying from this AA, and it has such a huge ammo capacity that it can shoot through the bushes in search of prey. This AA constantly shoots me down in the A-10. It has nothing in common with the HSTV-L.

On account of Bradley, the gun can penetrate 90 mm of armor, while the 2S38 can penetrate 225 mm of the top shell, which is more than twice as much.
This is despite the fact that Bradley has no warning systems. Low silhouette and armor.

101*

LOL!

The only negative HSTVL has over the 2S38 is the thermals.

HSTVL is double the mobility, DOUBLE.
22% better round in pen, 100% better in fragmenting and spalling armor.
Better optics.
Better turret and gun.

I thought you weren’t Russian, but you certainly defend their inferior equipment by overtly lying on Russia’s behalf.

The reload and ammo count do not impact capabilities against tanks, which is how these vehicles are balanced.
If 2S38 was balanced because of its anti-air capability it would be 9.3 - 9.7.

@Sail1ng
If it was American it would be 10.3.

HSTVL is firstly 1.3 br higher, secondly HSTVL does not have a top thermal imager and HSTVL does not have radiation warning systems. And most importantly HSTVL has 26 shells, you have to choose to spend shells on trying to shoot down an air target or on tanks.
2S38 is better than HSTVL on all counts.
In addition, 2S38 will not lose anything, because I often see it on 13.0, it protects points on aircraft.

If you’re going to stand still with an 8,0 km range missile it’s not the 2S38 that’s broken but your sense of survivability. The 3UO8 has an effective range of < 3,0 km.

Regarding the M3A3 Bradley in this subject is pointless, why are you comparing two distinct vehicles is beyond me, if you’re not paying attention the huge box with a stick isn’t noticiable also I don’t get it.

I see it’s most like an “I am bad at the game but please nerf this vehicle in some way” discussion.

Yes, 1.0 - 1.3 is the BR difference for double mobility and ~22% better rounds on average.

Sorry, but 2S38 will never be equal or better than HSTVL, it would have ZERO sales due to costing too much per unit.

And as I said:

double?
23.3 hp/t vs 32.5hp/t doesnt seem double to me
double mean 2x yk? 23.3 x 2 = 46.6 hp/t

8x on hstvl vs 9.4x on 2s38, better yeah?

oh yes it does, you can kill more tanks with 2s38 than hstvl, htsvl u have to be conservative with ur ammo, 2s38? hell nah spam it you have 146 rounds

its equal

bro stop making shi up im canadian

8 km? With a Hellfire? It will fly for over a minute. You won’t destroy anyone from that distance.
The effective range of Hellfires is 3-4 km.

Look at my latest battles, I get 5-6 frags per battle. I play very well, I’m just annoyed by unbalanced machines that ruin a good game.
