Why is 16v16 still a thing?

Its the same thing as with small maps discussion. Its just more concentrated action, so you have higher chance of getting some action during the match.

A lot of people just want to hop in a vehicle and start fighting quickly, they don’t want to run around the map trying to catch somebody.

What I would like instead is to be able to host custom match, which would be eligible for advancing in the tech tree. That way anyone could join the match they prefer.

You again with that nonsense. Modern jet combat in real life is not 16v16, engagements are mostly 2v2.

WW2, Vietnam, etc all say hi.

WW2 and Vietnam are NOT modern jet air combat. WW2 doesn’t even have jet vs jet combat. Vietnam already had smaller sized engagements compared to WW2.

They were the last large wars.
Simulating large wars > simulating low-intensity wars that games have been doing for decades.

It’s about air to air engagements ffs, not even battles, and you talk about entire wars. Modern jet combat consists of small scale engagements involving 2 to 4 planes on average, it makes no sense to bring up the scale of old wars when we are talking about actual engagements.

Low-intensity conflicts* are that small in engaging aircraft.
If you want low-intensity… the 5v5 tournaments are perfect.

i tried spading the gripen after not playing it since it dropped,it was an unpleasent experience.

unplayable to say the least.

“But the main thing, is that this massively benefits the more skilled and more confident players”

So game cannot be skill based because skilled players would perform better. What great logic.

This isnt what i said. The game is skill based in many senses, and skilled players do perform better as is.
