Why does the T-62 exist at 8.7?

and youre ignoring flat penetration and 30° penetration, which are far more common targets at the br, the m60aos hull is where you might struggle to pen at range with 3bm3 and its not a very common vehicle in my experience

did i said that it had better flat penetration? buddy youre the one that claims that it has better angled penetration, if you base that by the 30º mark the the 3bm4 would have the same angled penetration as the 105 dm23 which is false…

btw m60 are quite common at these br and it is far from the only vehicles where the armor have over 30º, and it also helps you far more agains 9.3 and 9.7 as it easier to hit the side of the hulls and overall more forgiven as the round will keep penning wore placed shot at turrets.

yeah i misspoke the angled penetration is about slightly in favour on the chieftain side. m60s are common but just dont aim the hull at long range

A lot of vehicles br from 8.0 to 9.0 doesn’t make much sense, the Chieftain mk3/5 and Mk10 definitely isn’t something that we put .3 apart lol one of them can trade fire with T-64B in a hull down position, the T-62 and T-62M1 is something I would place them at least .7 apart, one has a much better dart, composite armor and better FCS, its actually a direct upgrade to the T-55AM and also doesn’t make much sense if you want the T-55AM at 9.0 as it would look funny when you compare the ammunition of 9.3s, DM63 vs 3BM25 lol it has no business being that close with current 9.3s, also people slept on the two ZTZ88 which also has composite hull, better engine, slightly better reverse speed and much better ammunition than T-55AM, don’t even think they are equal. If you gonna move these guys up the all the 9.3 will go to 9.7 lol

Just blame compression bro

i agree

hmmm

The T-62M1 has the ammo to more reliably handle uptiers, in general I’d argue the 55AM is the overall better platform because of the reload but 3BM25 is tragic above 9.0.

Excellent vehicles but 9.0 as a whole is a weird BR of end-of-the-line 2nd Generation MBTs like the Type 74(E/F)/88/Leopard A1A1 etc. having to contend with 3rd Gen prototypes and race cars. The only one I’ve enjoyed playing recently is the Chief 10 and the problem with the 88s is the ZTZ96 is right there at 9.3.

These two are not even close, the Type 96 absolutely better everywhere should be at least .7 or 1.0 higher than the 88s, better gun handling, better gun depression, better main cannon, better ammunition, and better turret armor, only thing it lost is the big ass lfp, the hull is incredibly weak compare to t-64/t-72s…

Their performance gap is bigger than T-64A vs T-64B, like horeshet if it weren’t for the constant 9.3 uptiers to 10.3, there wouldn’t be a reason to use the 88s at all, at least 9.0 we are seeing a bunch of downtiers.

I have no proof but I also have no doubt that Gaijin was wrong about the penetration of the 3BM25. The Soviet Union released the APDS 3BM8, at the same time and mainly to save tungsten they released the 3BM20, with similar performance to the 3BM8 but with less tungsten. The 3BM25 is an improved version of the 3BM20 with a larger and heavier tungsten core so it should clearly have significantly higher performance than the 3BM8 and 3BM20.

1.5hp/t is not a small diffrance

T-55A should go up to 8.7, not T-62 going down to 8.3.
T-55A has a good dart, stab, armor, and decent mobility.

This is true. Decompression is always the better option. Idk if people looking at this thread now have seen this, but I did relatively in-depth analysis of the differences of the tanks in Feburary.

I recommend to read my post for those curious.

why

its ok, it’s not exactly “good”, western darts are superior

along with most other 8.3 MBTs

same armor as a 7.7 which had mid armor to begin with, it only saves you from bad shots, its not something to call upon often

worse than western MBTs

The T-55’s peers are at 8.3 and the T-55A wouldn’t compare well at 8.7 to any MBT really

The problem is the T-55A would be bad at 8.7 as it already isn’t the best tank at 8.3.

Probably for the same reason the AML-90 is 7.7 - no reason.

What BR do you think it should be

7.0 at most

I don’t think that’s too far fetched with the C13 T90 being 7.0. It shouldn’t be 6.7 or below though as it would just be strictly the best light vehicle at that point.

tbh I think it’s very hard to be an even remotely effective light vehicle when everything but your front can be penned by 7.62

Not getting shot is pretty easy, and 7.62s won’t reliably be effective. People need .50 cals to be a real threat. The AML-90 is tiny and fast.

It’s tiny and fast but it has the most compacted turret in the game(one 7.62 = instadead tank), and it has no stabiliser, so it can’t shoot and drive at the same time. If it had stab, it would be insane
