Why does the T-62 exist at 8.7?

Better sniper is arguable, it has a rangefinder but the ballistics on the l15 are worse than on 3bm4 it has also worse flat and angled penetration, although l15 is more reliabled amd shatters less. 90% of war thunder maps dont accomadate a sniper playstyle, the chieftain with its poor mobility is simply qorse than t62 in most cases, i have not personally played the t62, dont really need to either.

The l15 has a better flat penetration than the 3bm4 while having the same angled penetration.

Sure, the thing is that the t62 itself doesnt have a good mobility for its br either

They are overall pretty close, one trades the better mobility, hull protection and more ammo choices for better firepower, turret protection, gun depression and commander overide.

Comparing the T-62 and the Chieftains is something of a race to the bottom. The Chieftain has a notional edge in some areas, it’s worse in others, but in the end they both suffer at the BR bracket.

Ultimately, tanks that borderline require a defensive, hulldown playstyle that relies on armor shouldn’t be at the same BR as tanks with LRFs that outsnipe them, and rounds that trivialize even their best armor.

and as usual, everything, every god damn problems in that game comes down to the BR compression lol.

They “decompressed” 7.0 area a couple years ago by just compressing the bracket over it even more.

But I feel that it’s not ever gonna change.

those tanks are undertiered, no way t55amd1 and t69s should be at the brs theyre at, israel shot’s are fine imo

most definetly does for the level of protection it has, the chieftain does not have better firepower, it has better damage but that is about it.

Shot with ERA, DM23 and LRF definitely isn’t fine at 8.7.

It has no protection against APDS, HEAT or darts.

the protection of the t62 doesnt help it at all at these br, the chieftain’s turret at least gives protection to apds and some apfsds, again it still have bad mobility.

it does since it reloads faster.

made of paper and slow as balls.

It has ERA so it actually defends against HEAT.
It’s mobility isn’t really that much worse than what T-62 offers.

They have smoke shells, it can definitely help them getting into sniper position bro

does that compensate for the less flat pen and angled pen? doubt also no mobility on t62 isnt really bad. that aside i wholeheartedly believe that the t62 fits fairly well at 8.7 and so does the chieftain, your issue isnt with these tanks being at 8.7 it should be with the many op undertiered premiums, like the t55am which is the same br as the amd1 despite being just better. or t69IIg.

eh i never had issues with them, theyre frankly easy targets, if they get in a sniping position theyre dangerous but you can stil pen them anywhere

So youre adding up the flat pen and the angle pen of the two apfsds round? you can only fire one at the time buddy, and btw even the 3bm4 has worse angle penetration especially at range…

i mean, they have comparable horsepower but one weighs 35 tons the other 54.

That’s like 1.5 HP/t difference, not like you’re comparing a Maus to a go-kart my dude.

3bm3 has better flat pen, and 30° pen.

it has basically the same above 500 at 30º as the l15 and has much worse at 60º… at all ranges, also courious that as to why you base the angle performance at shallow angles…

ok so if we ignore every way in which its better its worse of course

You are the one ignoring the 60º angles which indicates better the angled performance, the l15 basically start overperforming the 3bm3 at like 40/45º, keep in mind that youre the one claiming that the 3mb4 has better angled perfromance… while also ignoring the performance at higher angles…
