The actual problem is it’s nothing at all to do with the ingame chat and more to do with players not following rules ingame…
And that brings us to the actual point.
If you can’t use the chat correctly and abide by the rules of it, then edgelords gonna be upset and get muted and removed…
But if NORMAL chat is being attacked by randoms so much that people don’t even bother using it, then it’s not the chats fault, it’s the player who is being abusive and edgey, and them needing to be more directly and promptly addressed.

Uh… Just to be clear, that was my point? I’m suggesting people don’t bother trying to talk in part due to the report system enabling any politically correct minded anonymous person to file a report that could lead to their account being penalized in some way.

that is the reason why I call them antisocial media. There is nothing social in it. They exist to grab data and money. But I think this is way beyond this topic or maybe a bit related because those things swap into this game.

As do I, doesn’t make a difference about players abiding by rules in chat and actually being respectful…

Government should rule with an iron fist so we all live in constant fear.
That’s why I brought up the things I did, because only a certain politically oriented person would hold these sorts of views, and they tend to go hand in hand with recent phenomena like “cancel culture” etc.
They are basically designed to be antihuman. They literally perversely incentivise talking past one another and misunderstanding over clarity.
It may be my “old” internet upbringing saying this, but forums are much, much superior.

There are a number of studies about the impact of social media, modern computer games and the fostering of anti-social behavior. Some tie in to chat content I supposed, but IMHO we are WAY out in the weeds from the OP topic here.
