Why does ammo belt type cost so much SP (around 152 SP, which is as much as a dumb bomb) for higher tier aircraft in GRB? This has been the case for as long as I remember, and it confuses me because high tier aircraft ammo belt makes little to no difference in ground-pounding capability since you rarely use your gun to kill ground targets anyway. While lower tier aircraft with AP and even APHE belt can use those belts for free. This makes no sense to me.
Is this a part of the game that was implemented and completely forgotten by Gaijin or is there a reason behind this that I don’t know?
It’s the same deal in ARB, except its SL cost… an extra 500 to 1000sl to the repair/ rearm cost for 1 or 2 extra HE rounds… hell the F-15J cost 1500sl to replace 1 API-T with an API
I don’t fly, but ain’t pilots on higher tier grb are encouraged to hug the floor so they can’t be targeted by SAMs? I have also been killed by a plane 30mm brrrtttt in my mbts so I could say the cannons are pretty powerful, almost feels like getting blasted by Gepards or Falcon from the sides.
The problem taking air belts also costs as much SP as ground belts, despite having more HE in the mix then even the free defaults which usually have enough AP to destroy tanks as it is, for example the SU-25s default belt is 50% APHE and the SU-30SM, Mig-29s etc is 50% AP-T so you are actually encouraged to take a better air to ground belt then the air belts, while the ground belt usually costs the same as the air.
So taking air to air belts costs the same as taking air to ground belts (you might also note that my entire load of suspended air to air weapons is only 20SP more than a non-default gun belt):
Not to mention that despite how long custom loadouts have been in game the cost is calculated by weapon type, not number, so carrying 6 ATGMs costs the same as carrying 2… the whole system needs a re-work.
Assuming you meant the A10, and yea that’s like the only “good” gun-runner at top tier, everything else is most 20mm and belt type makes no difference, which is why I am confused about SP cost on ammo belt type
