Why do you love to play War Thunder?

What is your reason for keeping playing War Thunder? I keep playing this game since there’s a lot to do/grind, and I have accepted the fact that I’ll never fully complete this game. It’s somewhat fun (and painful), but enough to keep me hooked with a somewhat good grind pace in Air Realistic (I’m about to get the Indonesian Mig-29N, first “top tier” jet). It may be painful, but why else do we all just love to play this game ;)

cuz i payed money

Cause DCS too simmy WOT WOW and WOP too arcady

understandable, have a nice day

lol me too but i need to play

War Thunder provides the perfect, sweet middle ground between a purely arcade game and a full-fledged simulator.

Arcade enough gameplay to be accessible in a casual manner, realistic enough modelling to be grounded and feel authentic.

As a war machinery and warfare enthusiast, this software is EXACTLY what I could have ever and possibly hoped for. Best way to quench the thirst of my passion !

im bad at the game

Theres no alternative to a simcade with a good vehicle library. all competitors either are too hardcore for sim or too console arcade trash to intrest me.

if there was an actual alternative to WT theres a good chance id be playing that instead. primarily to avoid the russian exceptionalism and APHE handholding thats rife in this game

I don’t

dont what?

Air sim games where my team is actively communicating, the enemy team is also competent and we are trying our best and whoever wins wins on a thin margin.

Add a bit of larp to it and we got perfection.

The sense of community from familiar faces at ww2 sim brackets is also cool. I like being able to say hi to people whether as foes or friends.

And the gradual sense of improvement one can achieve with their favourite plane pulling off stupid maneuvers that were previously impossible.

One day i will get a hammerhead kill in sim or a kvouchur bell kill and my life will be complete. (Joke)

The Bf 109 F-4. That thing is ridiculously fun to fly.

And unlike il2: great battles i can fly u.s navy air force props and i can get cool teamwork without needing to use voice chat. I do play both games as il2 has cool scenarios like apollo that satisfy.my.larp itch.

we all are at some point. that’s why i quit GRB

fruits of our own suffering huh (or something like that :P)

Not playing NATO against Russia at top tier GRB, that’s for sure.

Unless you like loosing and loosing again every match

I can’t back out now—I’ve been waiting three whole years for the F-14D to arrive.

Recently? The Object 122MT “MC” and T-34E STZ

so fun(? Idk how to use this word like most wt players) just for the love of the game. Got 2159SP in the MTMC casually today, and I had to tryhard for half a month to get that last time

Target destroyed makes me happy :D. Besides that I really like military vehicle and War thunder is the prefect mixture of realism and it being an actual game (at least for now). Custom battles can be really fun as well. Warthunder does have some issues like gaijin breaking the balance by adding overpowered vehicles to one nation and then after few updates give equivalents to other nation, By not excepting actual bug report with good sources or just take forever for them to fix a bug and etc, but that completely does not make me hate War thunder (though it does frustrates me a lot)

F-14D this year. I feel it :D

Stockholm syndrome.
Jokes aside I love the concept of War Thunder, I’m just disappointed in the direction the Devs. Are taking it.
