Why do you like ground Realistic?

so when will you start using it?

The only funny thing is that the greater the lack of talent on RB, the more he tries to emphasize the role of this mode’s configuration as a silent excuse for being just cannon fodder there :D

Arcade battles are fun, I don’t play them that much due to the lower rewards and not being able to bring my own planes though

Well, technically they weren’t wrong. For them, playing RB mode just consumes way too much brain power.

Exactly. These posts always seem to get derailed by e-penis measuring of players K/D.

I think every mode requires a special skillset and for me it’s just not my style.

When was the last time you have played RB? For years this is not the case anymore. Games are over in less than 10 minutes.

The most fun I had was through ambushing and being unpredictable. Aka not being seen, waiting, circling around the map to always be able to get sides and rears to shoot at

Interesting thread.
I found it interesting that several RB players stated that they find RB easier. I can see why.

Also people claiming that “arcade cross tells”… It doesn’t, unfortunately. Neither will you pen when it is green nor will you not pen when it isn’t green. It is very inaccurate and often better ignored.

Havent’t read anything about ULQ-settings here. Is that still an issue?

I only played Arcade for the first few matches before RB was unlocked. I instantly hated it. The mechanics of Arcade make flanking or hiding alot harder because ppl can see you without any efford and it realy feels like some shooting booth with little strategic value.

I started RB as soon as it was available and i never looked back. I have to rely on visual and audio clues (granted that some engine sounds are just bad) to find out if someone is nearby.

I agree but I think I might have got better at GRB sooner if I had played more games of Arcade first. You get used to being in close proximity to the enemy. GRB allows me to be the natural War Thunder coward I am. A good player needs to get used to surviving in the spotlight as well as sniping and hiding.
It is also good training for using SPAA and even CAS to an extent.

You get to know the path enemies take and where they hide and gather.
Easy to miss this in GRB if you are not being observant, and you learn the hard way quite often. Good arcade players deserve credit.

its possible to be sneaky and its much more satisfying to get a kill where you have to think about where to shoot than look at a coloured +

Yes, because it requires memory of weak spots and learning, and learning ammo types. So yes simply because of its challenging aspects. Easier to be sneaky, like how I was behind a M4 and M3 (Stuart) in a KV-2, and the Stuart was so tunnel visioned, I had time to reload and shoot him without him realizing.

I’ve tried GRB and played some time to get the “Prowler in the Night” title.
I’m mostly AB main but GRB has that certain satisfaction to it when you spot and destroy said tank, looking around and trying to keep the situational awareness. It’s completely different experience.

Until you get revenge bombed
And for me that’s what kills the mood of GRB. You also can’t really rely on your teammates to take out aerial threat since most likely half of your teammates are one-and-done type with rest probably being either pure tankers and very rarely does someone go into SPAA.
Just my two cents.
EDIT: But to answer question… I almost like it. But not quite.

Amen to that.

Possibly the most annoying aspect of the entire game, because someone is so senselessly pissed off, that they have to get back at you, but that’s just simple psychology. The only reason I “revenge bomb” is because it’s the only visible target for me or easiest to get too, as well as if it’s SPAA. Also can’t stand when the ADHD hits, and I’m paying super close attention, but I just can’t counter anyone.

Numerous things.

I like to feel the weight of vehicle, not drive RC car.

It also enables some vehicles to be played like paper armor TDs or flanking light tanks.

I like to spot the enemies by myself or scout vehicles, not have instantly highlighted targets because they were close.

Paired with that, it really rewards tactical play and positioning.

The gunnery on ww2 vehicles is also more enjoyable, landing long rage shots is just so satysfying.

Same here. Finding a target quick before you are shot down. I am sure that the new hurried nature of the game prompts many of us to jump into a plane for a quick kill before the game ends.

On days where I’m just looking for fun I’ll run a “YouTuber lineup” with just one tank and a plane, most fun I can have because you die, you get straight to a next match, actually got a nuke this way. Almost twice, 9 kills, 3 assists, 0 deaths, and got revenge bombed in the PBV 501.

I think freedom of choice is another real big plus for GRB ,well it used to be. So many ways you could approach the game depending on mood and intention. I don’t feel you have that with Arcade.

is it working for you? cause the stats arnt updating

Yeah, and because if anyone’s near you you get scouted with your tank and tank type, so the element of surprise is gone. Love sitting hull down in the Strv 103 in a ambush position and just dumping sabots down range because people can’t find the tiny silhouette, is completely removed in Arcade, and the pen indicator lets them just easily take you out.
