Why does the 10.7 abrams round suck so much? It can barely front pen everything while the abrams turret armor is very bad with others shells at the same BR. This makes no sense, why is it so bad? Is it becuase of the mobility or reload rate? I can’t be for armor because it can be 1 or 2 shot by anything at this BR frontally.
I’m not trying to complain but be educated about the reasoning behind this.
The M1 Abrams has very good mobility and armour but has the 105mm gun so less pen. But still more than suffecient for the BR
If you compare to equivalent 10.7s, like the Challenger Mk3, its overall much better but doesnt have quite as good pen.
I agree with the mobility thing however with the higher penning rounds of other nations I find my turret checks being pened very often at -700 meters. I can’t try to use my hull armor becuase of the turret ring. The shell (not wheel lol) is just the cherry on top making it kinda difficult to play.
But everyone is in the same boat on that front. At this BR, basically no one survives the first shot without total RnG saving them
I mean maybe i’m just bad (which is a possibility) But is seems like a leopard or a T-90/T72/T-80 hull down bounces or gets a lot of non pens.
Ah right, thats just the Stalinium. the ERA on those tanks is just OP.
As for the Leopard though, I think its just knowing the exact spot to aim. Which even I dont know half the time
It’s also any challenger at range hull down. (But ik they are supposed to be super good at range so that isn’t that bad)

Okay, here’s the thing. You have a worse round sure, but you also reload up to 2.1 seconds faster than a T-72, or 1 whole second faster than a Leo 2A4. And in my experience the M774 is pretty good.
leo 2a4 has dm23 t80b has 3bm 42 , challenger mk3 , vickers all firing the l26 round , ariete has the dm 33 ,
And then you have the ERA on the SEPV2 lol. -5 meters of era
Yeah ik the reload rate is better but if my round doesn’t pen it won’t matter there round will be able to pen me, making the reload usually useless
The one closest is still 50mm of pen more which is a lot.
It stabilizes the dart to ensure prompt and seamless penetration

M833 won’t solve your problems tbh, you’re still non-penning the same areas, just aim for weakspots and you’re good. As time goes on, it’ll become second nature :)
Yeah I wish it became secound natural but it’s hard on controller with volumetric. This is why I had to stop playing the sherman’s if my hands get cold. I won’t be able to pen the panthers turret becuase it’s a pain to aim.
But i guess i’ll just keep on dying in the mean time lol.
