How is this 2022 quality? Even on 2014 vehicles that’s questionable because that’s not PS1 era either, but this was added very recently.
At the same time vehicles like this are also added

Supposedly Gaijin outsources a lot of their modelling to external firms and independent game devs/graphic artists, which alongside the sheer amount of new aircraft being added to the game on a yearly bases does somewhat explain the drop in quality.
I mean if they’re outsourcing these, they got to pay them more money if this is the product they deliver.
they should just increase the minimum polygon count or texture resolution requirements or something, i assume this is more of a gaijin having low standards than developer not being able to increase details
I noticed textures up close looking like trash it might be a bug because in the hanger textures up close on the wings an such look good, but in a match they look foggy. It is strange, an on my end atleast the f16c cockpit some parts foggy on it for instance
The inconsistency is what is so jarring, because they do have pretty high quality models and then also garbage like this… when it’s the old models they still haven’t updated it’s one thing, and they should aim to keep vehicles on a similar level and update them at least once in a decade… but this came out in 2022.
And this is a premium plane, shame it doesn’t come with premium quality but only a premium price.
A super low res interior, slap some dials on there, in English of course even though I assume it would be in Italian…
Dials just placed on top instead of embedding them.
I mean is this really acceptable quality from a company that has been doing this sorta thing for over a decade?
What is that??? I literally have no words.
That’s a 2022 vehicle model, like $45.
Is this Saggitario/Ariete?
Yes
@BalticSAS
To keep the game 61GB in size.
If you want higher resolution textures, download the High-res Texture Pack.
Asking for a 300GB base game is not consumer friendly.
@zZoKo
Gaijin actually has high standards in this regard, not low.
Resolution isn’t everything.
It just has to be clear enough.
You think is a high standard and a $45 model?
Making sure vehicles don’t use up too much space in the game file system is a high standard, yes.
The less storage a game uses for the fidelity and content provided, the higher standard it is.
Right, and some vehicles should pay the price for that with graphics from the previous century, because a cockpit that takes up more than 5kb worth of detail we can’t have?
But we can also have this?
Nearly all of the graphics are from 2015 standards or newer, and are very optimized for storage use.
Even the 2012 Sabre cockpits are ahead of their time for when they released.
The game doesn’t need unoptimized STALKER 2, Tarkov, or DCS file storage.
Things need to look good, be readable, and be small in storage size.
As I said, there’s a High-res texture pack if you want it.
I stopped using it over a year ago myself cause the 1080p-standard textures are good enough.
I’m sure it’s optimized for storage when it looks like this.
And this is the high res pack… upgrades the graphics from 2002 to 2007.
So how is storage the excuse when adding 17GB of high res textures doesn’t give high res textures?
What aircraft is the first cockpit from?
Spitfire?
That’s pretty horrible looking…
Especially when you compare it to some newer cockpits
