Just off top of my head,
P-47s will suffer badly, mustangs (other than p-51h probably) will suffer badly, F84B will suffer (even if its airspawn makes it kind of broken right now). Me 262s will suffer as well.
Pretty much every plane class that has a low climb rate or very bad horizontal energy retention or low acceleration.
It was like that last year or so, during a time when Air RB players (including myself) absolutely HATED the fact that you couldn’t exist in the middle of the map below 3km lest your oil and coolant be yoinked from you.
Now midmap AAA or vehicle SPAAs don’t even target you if you don’t have A2G armament.
The only thing about WT’s “values” that is consistent is the lack thereof. There is no Combined Arms aspect in RB Air because they’re all bots and most have ‘simplified’ damage models.
Also even in RB Ground there is little to do aside from bombing other players. You can’t ever capture an objective (even if you COULD land, they removed aircraft capture ability) so at best you’re playing second fiddle to the vehicles the mode should be about first and foremost.
If you’re a clean fighter and the enemy team simply doesn’t bring CAS out, there is quite literally nothing for you to do that is worth your time.
Smaller maps are needed for 16v16 combined arms. Yes, some vehicles might get worse, but if Gaijin is really keen to make WT truly combined, then all modes should be just that. Either that or make one big 32v32 combined mode and make all other modes standalone.
What we have now is just a half-assed unbalanced abomination.
All those stats are relative to BRs they sit at currently, so good old BR change would mitigate that.
Gaijin is already doing this, that’s why some all-aspect missile slingers can see subsonic planes or you’ll have tanks with top tier rounds at 10.0.
And why should all modes be combined arms?
Why can’t we balance CAS in GRB instead of changing ARB?

Why should only Air remain with it’s standalone mode, whereas Ground and Naval both need to deal with combined aspect ?
I don’t think CAS will ever be perfectly balanced because of the fact Air vs Ground units is an inherently unbalanced matchup.
Some woes could be solved, but you’ll still feel the same way after getting defecated on by something you couldn’t counter from the get go.
Because it is not fun. The amount of people that would like to play an SPAA in air battles would be incredibly low. Already in GRB not many people spawn SPAA.
But you can make it better.

I think it should stay as a standalone mode because it is easier to balance, and it allows for better potential gamemodes.
Yeah situation could be better, but as I said, that unbalanced part will never go away, unless you remove CAS all together.
I think Pantsir is fine as it can still be countered by CAS. Other AAs are the problem.
I agree that it’d be easier to balance, but with Air being the only standalone mode it’s kind of unfair to other military branches, if you know what I mean.
I would just like to use this dedicated CAS thread to have a short rant about the new T77E1 SPAA for USA which has immediately become the most annoying thing to fly against at the BR with its never ending solid red line of .50 cal tracers that sits in its spawn and fires at you for the entire game from 5km away making it incredibly annoying to fly around while Im trying to shoot down enemy planes. Double if theres more than one of the things. Im not even going after ground targets, Im here to shoot planes down!
They arent getting any kills on me but god damn are they annoying. So yeah, if you hate CAS that thing is a great vehicle to play even if you dont get any hits.

I shot down CAP pilots as well and they got mad at me saying they only targeting CAS or other enemy planes. So kinda understand the frustration lol I learned to leave those alone until they start straffing.
Eh, Ive long since accepted that SPAA is going to spam rounds at me the entire game as long as Im in the air, and Im not mad at players themselves if they shoot me down since after all it is technically their role and shooting me down means their CAS is no longer being hampered, and their planes can then also interfere with our CAS as well, so shooting at a CAP aircraft does make sense. (Plus when there are no enemy planes I do go and look for easy targets to strafe on the ground)
Its just that particular new SPAA lol. Even before they added it the M16 was the most annoying one to have shooting at you at all prop tiers frankly, this one has two more guns so its a never ending solid red line of tracer rounds.
And while they arent killing me, they force me to stay manouvering, and the occasional tags of an orange wing here, damaged elevator there, oil leak there are annoying, so I have been forced back to the airfield to repair more often than normal over the last few days.
I would love to play that new SPAA more. The issue is that its in the US TT and its always the US spamming air and i get bored in it. When I play other nations, I love to play against the US cuz that will at least make my SPAA playable.
You can smell their BS from miles away, once there weren’t any air unit, they won’t hesitate to strafe your light tank’s ass lol

It only bothers me when SPAAs interrupt a good dogfight. Its just part of the game but its still disappointing because a good dogfight is rare.
CAP/CAS mains wouldn’t have any issues interrupting any tank duels though, they said: “how dare you complain about me trying to help my teammates bro?” lol
I agree, and as I said, its part of the game. That doesn’t make it less disappointing.

Do y’all have any less animosity for cannon planes like the Duck, Mollins, Tempest Vickers (p) etc?
No, they are still CAS. No real reason to treat them differently
It takes more skill to get kills with a cannon than it does with a bomb.
