So please tell me, what other game could I play in place of War Thunder? I’m on console, so I’m sure that severely limits the options. Do you think I’m seriously gonna pick WoT play style over War Thunders? No sort of compromise, just my way or the highway? Every update has compromise of some sort, adding a ground only game mode couldn’t be hard, simply remove the option to spawn planes in a separate game mode and that’s pretty much it.
Thats the beauty of it, Gaijin has no competition on “somewhat realistic” tank game market and they are aware of that fact.
Given Gaijin insistence on CAS and seemingly extreme popularity of Ground, its safe to assume Gaijin sees all these Ground players and instead “must cater to the majority” they go with “must advertise other branches of the game to them through ANY means necessary”. Therefore you get nice 500kg bomb at your doormat as a feature.

You make very fair points. I have always disliked Gaijin for abusing the monopoly they have on the market. Excessive grinds for event vehicles, and just the tech tree. Lack of rewards for each battle. Extreme costs for premium vehicles. Poorly implemented features such as updates and new mechanics. Lack of new features such as updates and new mechanics. Not to mention the inconsistency between nations receiving new vehicles. 5 major updates a year right? But some updates a nation can’t get something new, for zero reason. I guess I just wish for a change in ways for them, with the biggest thing being more respect for its players. Listening to community feedback more would be a grand start, which brings it back to, ground only game mode?
Which might be preferable, as 8.7 Yamato is same BR as Skyhawks carrying TV guided bombs.
