Why arnt russians given the sherman treatment?

this is the solid shot for the soviets.

incidentally, same question arises for soviet 45mm guns. they start with aphe as well. the solid shot ap shell has maybe 3 pen more at first. but not having a filler clearly makes them worse. and thus a better choice for starting with. since that is the logic gaijin goes with.

So bad though that I can’t invest enough confidence to shoot something in some angle that average shells are able to pen.

@JeruzalemisREAL why you’re targeting Russia and not mentioned that the Germans start with way better APHE shell? The Japanese? Or anything else?

thats a chinese vehicle, make sure there are no mistakes here, look up the equivilant soviet vehicles to make sure. What tank even is that?

So is it German bias because they don’t start with APCR?

It doesn’t matter if it’s Chinese, it’s still a Russian vehicle, firing Russian rounds (you can tell because of the round designations, startign with “BR”, “OF”, so on).

Even the very earliest T-34, the 1940, has BR-350SP. The reason they don’t start with this solid shot is because Gaijin sees that the stock round just has to be the one with the worst flat pen.

What’s the point of getting a better stock shell just to research a worse one?

in this case, since germany doesnt have a proper solid shot ap shell, not in the same sense as shermans and t-34’s have, they literally cant start with it. so they start with aphe by default, because there is nothing really much worse.

Fair enough, that explains it pretty well @JeruzalemisREAL make sure to read this

But their APCR is literally worse than APHE, worse than full caliber solid shot.

exactly.

that is why the sherman starts with solid shot now. its a bad shell. then they grind the tank, unlocking the better shell.

shouldnt that logic be across the board? all tanks? high tier tanks start with HEAT, which is obviously bad because every vehicle has anti heat armor.

shermans start with solid shot, cause its way worse than the aphe shell.

so why arnt russian 45mm and 76mm following the same logic?

Favoritism detected,

You’re not fair in this case, while the Pz. IV can start with a good APHE shell just because they don’t have “proper” solid AP shell it’s good?

But just because Russia is Russia they have to be bad as already is?

Because the solid shot in those cannons actually has more penetration, so Gaijin doesn’t see it as worse. Even though practically it is worse.

Exactly what?

I said literally “What’s the point of getting a better stock shell, in this case the BR-350SP, for a worse one: BR-350A/B?”

This is not a Yes or No question.

seriously, you were the only one in this conversation who didnt get it.

how you came up with chinese tank, or thought why chinese tanks had different equipment, while they literally use russian equipment is beyond my comprehension. its almost like if your entire setup was just to troll.

why are you trolling me? the solid shot is worse than the aphe shell…they start with the aphe shell. and they unlock the worse solid shot shell…

Really if one was to inspect every little tid bit of the game they would find 1000 contradictions and that would just be 1% of them.

It’s best to not lose sleep over it.

seriously, why is everyone who contributes to this thread talking as if htey never even did ground forces… first i got a dumb person who says chinese t-34 uses different shells than russian t-34’s. now someone who dont know that russian 45mm tanks starts with aphe. why are you guys trolling here…

BR-350SP is not worse than BR-350A or B, in fact, the best pen values over those, as usual,

So again I ask: What’s the point of giving for free, >>stock<<, the BR-350SP which is >>better<< and having to research BR-350A/B that’s is >>worse<<?

Because it’s not fair giving the best shell stock and leaving the worse one to research?

BR-350SP is not better than BR-350B. 3 extra mm of penetration is pretty much meaningless compared to the actual ability to guarantee critical damage with explosive filler, which is made even more so important by the fact that Russian tanks generally have poorer reloads, so one shotting versus not is very important.
