Because it’s not fair giving the best shell stock and leaving the worse one to research?
BR-350SP is not better than BR-350B. 3 extra mm of penetration is pretty much meaningless compared to the actual ability to guarantee critical damage with explosive filler, which is made even more so important by the fact that Russian tanks generally have poorer reloads, so one shotting versus not is very important.
You POS lol. You never showed anything more than a obscure statcard that from my casual engangement only told me it was a chinese vehicle, why are you getting so mad about me asking you to clarify yourself?
you shoot the 350sp in the rear of the crew compartment. it might kill the gunner. or a commander. it might pass through without leaving any result.
the 350A/B shell penetrates, and explode inside that crew compartment. having 1 shot potential.
the difference is the explosive part. its simply how this game works. APHE has always been the better shell due to the one shot potential. the only reason why solid shot is better over aphe is when it has incredible better penetration values, like with the british 17 pounder.
If you think Russian starter ammo is always better than other countries for God sake don’t be tempted to dabble in naval as there is a shocker that proves the exception to the rule…
Russia’s reseve ship is the Novik-class, Frunze, 1940. 4x 102mm sounds OK but the default shell is Shrapnel! You barely damage other ships with a mere 5mm penetration, and against PT boat you really do need more than ball bearings.
Be thankful for small mercies.
i still dont understand why that matters. the chinese t-34 literally is a russian t-34. you can check it ingame. even the modifcation screen of the chinese t-34 1943 is identical to the russian t-34 1942. its literally the same tank. but you tried to blame it on “its chinese” to prove…whatever you tried to prove. im still unsure what you tried to prove with that poor attempt of incompetence.
IDK man, 150g of TNT are quite a lot of boom at those lower BRs.
Useful, so you don’t have to surgically remove each crew from the other tank.
Penetration might be the around same, but post pen damage is way higher with APHE.
You never said what vehicle it was so how could i have know that it was from the soviet tech tree. Its quite simple no reason to over think it
At what point in this image and or text do you provide me any casual clue what kind of vehicle this is?
we arnt discussing vehicles.
my question still remains
why do the t-34- and kv-1 not start with the solid shot shell, while shermans do?
since the chinese t-34 doesnt differ from the russian t-34, this would logically include them as well. they should also start with the worse shell.
the fact the image says its a 76.2mm gun, which means its a russian 76mm. and the shell names are russian shell names. so it are russian shells, coming out of a russian gun. like goddamn son, what more hints does your dull mind need?
if you need a vehicle list which uses hte russian 76.2mm gun, it are the
russian
t-34-1940
t-34-1941
t-34-1942
t-34/E
kv-1 (l-11)
kv-1s
kv-1 zis-5
bt-7A
SMK
germany
t 34 757
kv-1b
china
t-34 1943
sweden
t-34 1941
and other than the kv1e, t-34-1940 and kv-1 l-11, which uses the short barrel 76mm and does slightly less penning, all the stats of all the other mentioned vehicles uses the same 76mm gun, with the same 76mm shells, having the same identical stats.
so why are you saying my picture was dismissable, based on it being chinese, and not russian?
Every other person on this thread has already said it. Because vehicles start out with the shells with weakest pen, and have to unlock the rest.
Sure i am the dumb one, but even after 50+ replies of people trying to explain to you the reason, you are still not smarter from when you created this thread lmao
i have read their comments, and i did read them, and these are reasons provided by them, not by gaijin themselves. even tho they have made fairly good guesses on why gaijin did what they did.
i am only replying to you, because you have made the dumbest comment yet, trying to dismiss my stat card, because you thought it was chinese, even tho the reason for which country it belonged to had literally no meaning here. so if you are done throwing a tantrum showing the endless amount of your inability to properly think, can i now continue with this thread?
before dumbustard derailed the thread a bit.
so, some people commented on that the solid shot shell was performing better than the APHE shell.
I dismiss this. yes, for the early tanks, the 350SP has 12 more pen than the md-5 fuse. however, despite the more pen, if that pen cant be fully utilized, its useless. the md-5 fuse explodes inside the tank, massively increasing its 1 shot potential, compared to the solid shot shell, which can go through tanks without even hurting anything inside. they dont explode, so they are completely reliant on scrapnel damage. if scrapnel hits nothing, it damages nothing. the explosion of an APHE shell will damage everything around it.
on future models, starting the t-34 1941 model, the penetration for both shells increased. the main difference between md-5 fuse and the 350SP shell, being 13mm difference. however, you can unlock the md-8 fuse, which difference is only 3mm with 350SP.
again, this difference in penetration is negligible, because 350SP has no filler, and thus bad 1 shot potential. the APHE shell will always be better, even if it has less pen. because it has less pen, gaijin doesnt make it the starter shell, theorized by some people here.
gaijin should make the 350SP shell, the non filler solid shot shell the starter shell. same as where other tanks, like shermans, start with solid shot.
They start with whatever AP round is the lowest pen. This means, all AP and APHE. Stuff like APCR and HEAT is not considered for these early rank tanks.
You can disagree but that is how they do it.
Why would you advocate for a worse stock grind?
I take this opportunity to remind everyone how much the soviet 76mm gun overperforms:
because shermans were given a worse stock grind back when it happened.
it should become globally. every tank deserves to have a bad stock grind. thats what stock implies.
Every tank deserves to have a good stock grind.
You are wrong if you think it should be worse. It’s a terrible take.
