You just need like three 1 hour matches to get the 7.7k score even if you are not that good.
More skilled players will complete it with only 1 or 2 matches.
Today* I literally got the task completed with 2 long matches and 1 short. From 3:30 AM to 5:00 AM. Even with my lack of sleep I could get enough score to complete it.
And now with the ground pound buff, it should take you less time.
It used to take 1 match as Russia, and 1-2 as US for me. Honestly they should have left air rewards as is, and just buffed ground rewards while nerfing the crazy AA to make CAS more viable
Sure there were many players focus on A2A, because if you slightly above average it was easy to fullfill the 7700 score points. I did it with the Yak 141 in 40min. Let’s see tommorow.
But as every event this kind, there are many players flying stock planes, because it’s double benefit. You play event AND spade youre plane. So these players have no or limited bombs.
The field AA is ridiculous. After 3 patches still tracking through ground and no lead at all. The same with BMPs. If you have to fight near them, no matter which speed, which angle, you are dead. Show me a single gunner irl with this skill.
Then you have HAWK/Patriot, systems which are able to shoot through half the map. As you are not able to see which are alive because spotting range is too short, you always fly and pray.
Additionally I had not a single match where my team was able to pull enemies into our zone. So you have to fly near AA or you get no kill at all.
Yeah, it took one yesterday but other days it was 2 for Russia playing the mig29.
played 2 yesterday in the F4E and had around 4500 points in the first game, and got about 7000 in the next one after nuking in the B52.
I’ve been launching them at Mach 2 at an altitude of 10 km with the MiG-23, I can safely say that there will be some nukes that I’ve launched from more than 20 km.
they have managed to turn this quite enjoyable event into miserable 3 hours grinding of getting constantly killed by ten trillion spaa’s, good job gaijin
Where does it say this is an air-to-air event? The players decided that themselves.
Destroying SPAA is difficult because it requires some thought and the right approach. You also had to figure out how to deal with it — though YouTubers helped with that, especially Hunter_i86.
It’s good that destroying ground targets got a buff, because before it wasn’t very rewarding. Overall, it’s still less profitable than air-to-air kills, but at least now it’s a bit more satisfying.
As for the nerf to air-to-air kills — it’s hard to say. On one hand, you could reach a nuke faster before; on the other hand, to me those air fights feel very arcade-like and are one of the weaker aspects of this event — you can do the same thing in any other mode.
In your view, ground targets could be completely removed and the focus shifted entirely to air combat: get 2–3 kills, earn a nuke, and fly to the enemy airfield.
Boring.
