I mean mixing line-ups well also giving nations their own tree could be done with sub-trees. It would require a sub-tree rework but:
It would make it so things like the India and BeNeLux sub-tree would no longer have their problems as you don’t need to grind their stuff, but can if you want and mix line-ups. would also deal with the space issue.
Or the player base just doesn’t want to play Indian vehicles which has been the trend. The Bison sold terribly for a top tier premium, especially for being an R-77 equipped MiG-21 which has been begged for in multiple forms over the years. Despite having a much much higher supply, being half the price, being much more capable, having a way better line up, the Jaguar IS barely moves more on the market than the Jaguar E. I still see way more CR1s and CR2s than T-90S (I probably see about as many TTDs) despite the platform being very strong and providing a lot of capability than what is normally offered in the UK tree. The Vijayanta got removed incredibly quickly for a GE premium that sells bad. I don’t think I’ve seen a single person use the Indian skins on the BMP-2s, but see plenty of SK skin T-80Us and BMP-3s. Almost every attempt at adding Indian vehicles has been a failure for Gaijin in terms of engagement with the playerbase and thats for one simple reason. The Indian MIC is seen as a joke in the west because it’s just filled with things like the Arjun taking 30 years to be a knock off Leopard 2 with terrible armor. The Tejas taking 30 years to develop and still not entering service. That awkward wheeled BMP-2 where they didn’t even bother removing the track side skirts and looks like it got smashed in the face with a pan. Thats just the reality of things. No one looks at this thing or the interior mess of the Arjun and goes “WOW I REALLY WANT TO PLAY INDIAN VEHICLES!”
Talk about picking the most unfair comparison vehicles. A big reason why the Jag IS doesnt do much on the market is because it doesnt really have a role in the TT, everything it does, the TT vehicles also do. Vijayanta has the exact same issue, TT does the same thing it does. T90S is a squadron vehicle, takes a lot of time to unlock and people will only pick it when its the last thing if they dont want it directly.
100% can bet if gaijin added the Ajeet it would be a heavily popular plane, if they added the SHAR with Derby it would have been popular too (though now not so much due to power increases in the TT), if gaijin went for adding the Vijayanta in the TT it would likely have been a staple vehicle in most lineups.
People only pay money for things if they actually add to the tree, the problem with the vehicles selected so far is well, they dont add that much over the TT and other, superior premium choices exist (like why buy the Vijayanta when you could buy the AVRE for much of the time? Or now the Chieftain premium? Or a Challenger premium?).
As for not gaijins fault… I mean it kind of is, they picked some of the less interesting choices they could and it flopped, lol.
If gaijin picked the Vijayanta with LRF it might have done better, 1 with composite armours, the catapult or the GBT-155 Vijayanta, ex Tank would be more interesting then the T90s.
None of those “look bad” lol. (it also prob doesnt help that gaijin went with making RoF a balancing thing which kinda cripples the Vijayanta a bit, given its whole thing was its redic rate of fire IRL and mobility combo)
