In the newst update, a new SAM system called OSA-AKM is being added to the game, and in 3 nations in total, Russian, Germany and Italy!
But i saddens me to see, that neither Indian nor South African OSA is getting added. Is there a reason they are omitted?

I was going to make a thread on this but thought I would be pushing the luck after the Belgian Scimitar for France thread.
Would deffo support it myself given that its obvious gaijin want to go that road with India and South Africa.
It deffo feels weird how the UK seems to get left out on the whole “everybody can have an X” moments xD
Would I use it? Unlikely unless we get more Indian vehicles in which case I would make a lineup with it for an Indian lineup, but it would be nice to have.

Its likely better then any of the UK current SAM systems lol. also would help form an indian lineup.
AFAIK the South Africans captured that Osa unit from Angola and didn’t exactly “operate” it, but the Indian Osa could certainly be added.
Shouldn’t the British tech tree receive the rapier instead ?

Considering lack of ~10.0 br SAM that could destroy air vehicles at longer ranges, yes.
Rapier would likely be doing different things with different tracking systems, also not as far ranging IIRC.
And again, India is a subtree for the UK, so adding it will help to expand the Indian influence within the tree. The model exists, copying it over doesnt really take away.

I would be very hapy with that, but when the OSA is getting added all at once to multiple TTs, why not add it to UK too?

Rapier has ~8km range and IRST track, so clouds say bye bye.

It will likely go up in B.r. though.
That is fine, then it would nicely fill the hole between 10.3 Stormer AD and 11.7 ADATS.
But if im honest, unless they change placement in the TT, i doubt it will go up in br.
Yep, it underwent a few trials, but finally ended as a training vehicle. Things might have went differently, but stabilization of things in that part of the world removed the urgent need for SPAA.
I would say for people to also remember the proverb of
“dont let perfect get in the way of good enough”
When it comes to SPAA, more systems is always better, in a perfect world gaijin would add all the British domestic systems, Rapier would be in already, etc, but it isnt, and the OSA is sat there, looking at planes. We dont even know if gaijin actually have plans to add more SPAA for the UK at all even.

They ain’t gonna put in the work just to add rapier, ppl been asking for ages, especially tracked rapier
I think the Indian one should be added. If we’re supposed to have an Indian sub-tree (like it or not) in the UK tree, they need some representation. I’d like to have an Indian Army lineup one day in the game and the Indian Osa-AKM plays a role in that. Not to mention, it would be beneficial for the tree itself
