When will they fix/add manual aim to Navy Arcade?

When will Manual/Realistic Aiming be fixed/added to Arcade Navy?
It is a simple question.

We didn’t ask for the aim change to “Ai”, we didn’t and don’t want it still.
Not only was there a poll regarding these changes with overwhelming responses but countless threads voicing the concerns of a majority of Naval Arcade Players.
There is the Realistic Aiming Tab in Naval Options>Naval Battle Settings

Which appears to do nothing at all!

What google says about the changes:
In War Thunder’s arcade naval battles, the aiming system changed to a simplified “point-and-click” AI-driven system where the game automatically calculates the required lead for shots, removing the need for player-controlled adjustment of range and targeting for speed. This change was implemented to make the mode more beginner-friendly by reducing aiming complexity, though many veteran players feel it removes the skill from aiming and has made the mode less engaging.

What the New System (claims it) Does:

  • Automatic Lead Calculation: The game’s AI now independently determines the lead necessary to hit the target, considering both the player’s and the target’s ship movements.
  • Simplified Targeting: You no longer need to manually adjust for the enemy’s speed or distance, and the shell impact point marker and FCS progress bar are disabled because they are no longer needed.
  • Enhanced Long-Distance Firing: This system is intended to make shooting at longer distances more effective, especially when ships are on opposing courses. (This is highly debated in forums)

What Players Dislike:

  • Loss of Agency: Players feel the AI takes too much control, removing their ability to make precise shots and giving them less agency over their weapons.
  • Reduced Skill Requirement: Many players find the new system “dumbs down” the arcade mode, turning it into an easy “point-and-click” experience that doesn’t teach fundamental aiming skills for other modes.
  • Impact on Existing Players: Experienced players who enjoyed the previous, more complex aiming system feel the change has made the game less enjoyable and are considering switching to realistic modes. (This is not true for myself and too many other players, we don’t have the time to play realistic battles. I have not played Naval Arcade since the changes to Ai aiming - there are far more that chose to stop playing Navy rather than “make the switch”. It’s been implied to switch modes is “easy” but that is untrue. Realistic mode is completely different to arcade mode, it has longer time to queue, time of battle, playstyle, etc. That’d make as much sense as someone playing Arcade Ground/Air swapping to realistic because it is “easy”)

The Rationale for the Change:

  • Gaijin Entertainment stated the change was made to make naval arcade battles more accessible and friendly for new players who struggled with the original, more complex aiming system. (This is also heavily criticized/debated for being untrue in the forums)

*Yellow added by me

Many believe that fixing/adding manual aim in arcade mode will make it more engaging, more enjoyable and bring old and new players to Navy Arcade.

Glad you came back.

That’s not true, you need adjust just adjustment different now.

That is truth - in NRB where aiming stayed the same is way harder for shots on high distances in enlarged maps which came with recent updates, you will notice it, if you start playing with something bigger than low rank boats. And on opposite courses you now clearly see where you shots landing cause target always on the screen(it’s a big flaw of old system, where you don’t see the target in this conditions, which is totally unrealistic cause ship is not just one man with spyglass and manual controlled guns).

This is totally opposite, now even new player could land precise shots.

Your previous point stating it became harder and now you stating it became easier. Truth is - it became different. Besides that, why should NAB teach you skills to playing other modes(btw. it still does if you so need it, it teach you about maneuvering, positioning, target prioritizing, control of the battlefield)?

Actually it doesn’t look like this in real numbers, not in you presumptions. NAB got more players with recent updates and they stayed longer in the mode, than those who played NRB.

Doesn’t seem like this, cause new aiming doesn’t kick away old players, for them to come back and new players could compete with veterans way easier now. WT online is more than stable, even you came back cause you have an urge for WT.

I love the new aiming system because it’s finally a reason to play arcade over realistic naval.
Also, the polls voiced concerns of a minority* of naval arcade players, not a majority.
Over 90% don’t even use the forum.

Also the fact there are more players playing naval arcade now is proof enough.

why even create another echo-chamber thread where bunch of boat-lovers think they are majority? when will you understand that skill of which u are talking about in NAB is not only shooting plebs who see the game like for a week

There is pros and cons to the new arcade aiming system, but there is certainly 0 excuse as to why players arent given the choice

yeah, with that I totally agree. I think there are quite complex technical issues with implementing this after new system was introduced. Otherwise I see no reason to enable back this option

I encourage all to voice their opinion - however I am seeing the same familiar spammers already jumping aboard. Don’t saturate this thread with your thoughts and opinions over facts please.

@Kweedko the feeling is not mutual.

There is no precise when shooting is random generated by Ai. Period.

Yet again your claim to more players after update is irrelevant, let me explain it to you again as you simply won’t accept it. Every update you get an influx of players to see what is new/different and “if/did they fix it?” answer being no and players drop off again every time.

I don’t know of any old players who have returned to the current broken system.
I am here simply to check if they reverted their mistake.
I played 3x ground battle to be able to post again - as navy arcade battle is still unplayable.

I’ll sure I’ll continue to see you here, the lack of action from staff you take under your belt as some sort of personal victory - that’s okay I’ll see you here again a year from now when they change it back and you still have something to say about it.

I am yet to see more than 4 people in Navy Arcade Queue the wait time for me has more than quadruppled. That is a drastic change from what I used to see prior to the aiming changes. But do go on stating your opinons/assumptions I mean facts*.

You are hot and you are cold you are in and your are out, which will it be? You did this in other threads. Feels Spammy.

100%

The more the better, until the deaf ears it falls upon actually listen.
Enduring legitimate concerns from what I am seeing the old threads were swept under the rug, where they like to keep them, was time for some fresh/new blood.

Even though they did their best to destroy it and ignore the core players - some of us still care.

@Kweedko I find your pretty graph very hard to believe it does not reflect my own or anyone I know experience with population in NAB
I am not going to encourage your spam with replies so as in the other threads - I shall just ignore the troll.

Maybe you should try queue more than one server. Beside that how do you even know if queue time increased if not even playing naval, on your favorite 3.3-3.7 there is always battles you could find in just a couple of seconds so, you are spreading misinformation on purpose.

It’s not random generated, learn to play mate
